Le Havre (Criterion blind buy) was the first Kaurismäki I watched; and, suffice it to say, I now own/watched about 20 of his films. If you end up liking Le Havre, try his latest (Fallen Leaves, Cannes Film Festival 2023 Jury Prize winner). Kaurismäki is often compared to Jim Jarmusch, if that helps. Also, thanks for the Pierre Étaix recommendation in last week's live stream; picked it up at the B&N 50% sale afterwards; simply amazing stuff -- my kind of comedy. Keep up the great work.

Oh yeah! That's why I added Le Havre to my wishlist. Because Pierre Etaix has a role in it. Thanks for reminding me. I'll definitely have to pick that one up this month. Glad you enjoyed the Etaix box set. I had a great time going through it earlier this year.

Just my 2 cents but the green on the twister cover is probably for the dimness that that the tornado storm may produce and I understand that this new 4k release has a greenish tone during the storms' scenes!

I have the French Le Samourai 4k disc. Stunning transfer. Certainly the same used by Criterion, as it says on the beggining; "Pathé et The Criterion Collection présentent".

They said writer of 28 days later on the Civil War release because alex garland didn't direct 28 days later. Danny boyle did. Garland got his start in writing with that film i believe
