Ever since I saw you'r Splinter Cell video I hoped you would do one for Hitman and it was worth the wait. And to answer you'r question about Tenchu, I didn't play every game in the series and it was a long time ago but from what I remember the first two are kind of like Codename 47, Good ideas but haven't aged all that well. Wrath of Heaven (the third one) is really good and it improved everything from the first two games, It's one of if not the best ninja games out there. The 4th one is more of the same from what I remember and I didn't play the rest of the series but I hear a lot of good thing about the last one(shadow assassins), could make for an interesting video.

Keep in mind that Hitman: Codename 47 was released in a time where pretty much ALL shooters games had hostile NPCs. Everyone you see is a foe, shoot on sight! And judging by the C47's guides and reviews over on GameFAQs, it confused a TON of people, apparently. Now, isn't it something!

@@cheesuschrists I understand And for your problem, you can actually easily fool the guards Firstly, throwing a coin while they're looking at you is pointless, it just makes them a little suspicious about you and it wastes a lot of time Throw when they're turned around or something, and they instantly go check what's wrong Also, I would think Blood Money was hard as well until I got used to it, but then I realized its child's play after I installed Hitman 2 Silent Assassin

If I remember correctly, IOi stated that the original idea behind Blood Money’s newspaper was that if you killed the target with an accident and only killed the target, their death would be a minor side section in the papers. If you only killed the target but there were witnesses, they’d get a much larger section, and if you killed too many non-targets, your exploit would get front page. This seems like a neat system, especially for those who like to role play as 47.

My favorite part of silent assasin is the fact that any weapons you have on your person when you clear a level, will instantly be added to your shed. And in the shed, there are outlines of every single unlockable weapon in the game, so can easily tell what weapons you should keep an eye out for when playing levels! Spoilers ahead lads! What out! One of (if not THE) last levels has 47 arriving back at his home base, without any weapons, and the place is swarming with guards. My first playthrough I tried to struggle my way through and kill everyone on the map. The second playthrough I realized "Oh shit, I have my _shed"_

The suspicion meter in Hitman 2 (the original) seems random because it differs per map. It's based upon a reasonable expectation of how likely it would be for someone to recognise that you're in disguise. For example, on the first map, the mafia all know each other, so they very quickly recognise you aren't one of them. It is a bit of a frustrating mechanic sometimes, but it is not random.
@MusssabM
@MusssabM Жыл бұрын
The randomness aspect of it is how sometimes guards can blow your cover and sometimes not. Which the video clearly shows and that's what I remember from the level. It's the same for the first map. Not to hate on the game but, random it definitely was.
@spyegle
@spyegle Жыл бұрын
I think the big issue with the randomness is how Critical played it. I've read everywhere that playing the game at more than 60 fps (or just 60?) breaks the IA completely. I've just finished it yesterday for the first time on ps2 and the IA was mostly consistant, at least WAY more than on that video. Well... dare I say it's my favorite disguise IA in the entire series !

I’ve always thought how 47 isn’t being recognized by federal agencies around the globe. He may commit murders while being hidden and using different disguises. But he always enters a location with the same suit. So he is always being seen as agent 47. At this point, there HAS to be a pattern established because a bald dude wearing a suit and a red tie is always present in places where someone has a weird accident, or mysteriously drowned, chocked, shot in the head.

From playing Hitman I moved to Kane and Lynch and holy shit.. I loved the story move even though so many people hated it but the online multiplayer... I think the Hitman games starting from 2016 are the best ones in the series. I feel like they are not so dark like the first trilogy was, which is a negative in my eyes, but at the same time 47's comments while he blends in, his voice acting, movement, basically his whole character is just amazing. The tons of opportunities are brilliant, i played the Miami level through a whole day and i still didnt do everything i have planned. I think these games are the best way to continue what the og games were about, and im so happy that IO knows what people loved so much about the Hitman series.

The Berlin mission in Hitman 3 is one of the most interesting mission locations for a Hitman game, as it gives the proper setpiece that is Hitman's bread and butter: a party setting. This mission feels like nightclub scenes from movies like Mission Impossible, John Wick and many more, and the fact that you have to look for the targets instead of them being handed to you on the Instinct platter is so innovative and amazing!

Not entirely related, but I love that instead of 2 targets who are the “big bads” involved in some evil criminal plot, you have 10 possible targets, of which you only need to kill 5 which gives you a lot of freedom on how you tackle the mission. Also I generally love the idea of trying to evade and chip away at the individual “foot soldiers” if you will, of the group that turned on you and wants you dead. You aren’t killing some big shot gang leader or oil baron, they’re assassins just like you, yet inferior, and instead of running away you have to face them head on in a display of all of 47’s skills. I love the premise of this mission and it’s executed fantastically, also a really fun mission for showdowns in freelancer.

My favourite mission is actually similar to the one you are referring to, but it's " St Petersburg revisited" where we need to kill a fellow assassin as in Amendment XXV. What I like about St Petersburg more is how the agency betrays you and tricks you with fake sniper ammo (amazing plot twist) and agent 17 actually would just shoot you like a real assassin out of nowhere if you make noise rather than running away like Parchezzi. When you said Contracts was your favorite in the series, I patted my chest with respect. It's the most underrated of the original 4 and was kinda like the Goldilocks of those 4. The first two seemed very strict and straightforward while Blood Money seemed very garish and "too open and free", yet flat when it came to the gameplay. Contracts was a PERFECT medium when it came to the stealthy gameplay, and the visuals and atmosphere were top notch for 2004. Sure it looks not as good as other titles for its time but the overall feel and look compared to the others made it shine, and yet I rarely hear people talk about it. And the music was an amazing piece to accompany the overall aesthetic. I respect you bro
@PeanutButterAndJellyBros

it pretty much is the most underrated I agree. I think the disguise system is at its best in Contracts. It punishes you when deserved and it gives you room to breathe all at the same time. All of the missions were fun including the remade missions. The gameplay was very good still for a hitman game. A part of me is glad that they remade the hong kong missions to prove that the hong kong missions can be played by adopting the stealth technique to complete them. The Colombia missions however would have been very interesting had they been remade because I believe the developer would have remade those Colombia missions to be played in stealth mode in order to avoid the disastrous shooting that the 1st game did.

Yes! I enjoyed Blood Money, but Contracts was the first I played and my first PS2 game. I was blown away by the atmosphere and mystique of it all. One of my favorite moments was helping the SWAT storm the Rotterdam ship in disguise. Blood Money and Absolution lacked the exotic feeling of Contracts and SA. I'm glad we get to jet around the world again in the new trilogy, but do wish they had included native languages of the locals. Recently finished the debut, Codename 47, and it was interesting trying to replicate the tactics for the remade missions I originally played on Contracts like stashing a gun in the kitchen in the Seafood restaurant.

@CErra310
@CErra310 3 жыл бұрын
This has nothing to do with 'hate', they just don't fit in the new trilogy because they don't mix with the clinically clean and/or efficient style of 47 and any of his adversaries. He himself uses a single suppressed 1911 because it's the best concealed carry on a tall man with deep suit pockets, and the security guards he takes down are employed by ultra-rich individuals or corporations with enough money to supply them with H&K weaponry which are arguably the best mass-produced firearms you can get if you're willing to pay the HK Premium. Revolvers fit into Absolution because it's a mess of a game whose greatest merit is the penny dreadful version of Doug Dimmadome as villain, and they didn't fit into the previous games but were there anyway because IO was figuring out what Hitman should be as they were making the series.

There’s actually a few other missions that can be done like this. Murder of Crows can be done in a couple minutes with Silent Assassin with a little variance depending on where the Crow with the sniper spawns. (EX: Run to the alley with the piano. Crow chick will be standing under it. Behind the fence where the two guys are, pull out silenced baller and shoot her in the face. Pick up walky talkie. Climb up pole next to her. Take out sniper. Wait for clone crow dude. Shoot him in the face. Then sniper crow dude: there’s apartment buildings that are secluded for you to snipe him. If you picked up the walky talkie, check the map, see where he is. Go to the apartment you need to go to snipe him. Knock out anyone in apartment if needed. Shoot him in the face. Then leave) Not really a flex, Blood Money has been out for almost 15 years. Absolution had problems, but that game is the foundation of the World of Assassination trilogy, it's where so many modern Hitman mechanics stem from, including the detailed level design. IO looked at Hitman Absolution, really thought about what would make it better, kept the good stuff, listened to the fans and pretty much perfected the formula with Hitman 2. As the saying goes: a person who falls down and gets up is stronger than the person who never fell. Fun fact: absolution is technically and canonically in the same universe as Tomb Raider and Kane & Lynch.

Detailed level designed is really the consequence of better hardware to develop games, not Absolution. There's a trend with Hitman in the details area since Codename 47, and every game had a positive change in that area. I wouldn't contribute it to Absolution lol, that game is still garbage.

Ex. in the bar level is a barstool shaped like a horse saddle. They could've easily just made a normal stool, but they went out of their way to enhance the environment, that type of thing simply wasn't as present before Absolution. Funny how I was introduced to Hitman with Absolution and I love the game so much to this day. I agree with characters being cartoon-y but I feel it's part of the charm of Hitman altogether... The NPCs are life like, weird and full of energy and the playable character is stiff and robotic. It's introduces an element of comedy and fun in a gritty "murder simulator" and I totally get how people could be off-put by this but in the long run it makes the game more playable and entertaing because its not only about cold murdering people in the stealth-est way possible to get the best rating... You have a lot nore possibility to have fun with the game with hillarious NPCs and smart dialauge referencing murder when 47 speaks.

The newspaper, albeit largely pointless, was still a fun feature and I loved the cutscences. I feel like I could have made this, my thoughts exactly re: Contracts. IO really nailed it there with the dark, gritty atmospheric levels + overall game tone combined with jesper kyd's soundtrack. It's a unique aspect that I haven't seen repeated in any Hitman games since. Absolution was a mistake and I'm glad IO corrected it (for the most part). I hope they just keep pumping out "traditional" Hitman games and don't repeat the mistake of Absolution. Perfect what you're good at and don't ruin it. It would be really nice to get a nostalgic throwback game with remakes of missions from Codename 47, Hitman 2, Contracts, and Blood Money (actual remakes, not HD). And a full-blown sequel to Hitman: Contracts with more dark, gritty, depressing episodes of past contracts. There are endless possibilities for missions so I'm not sure why IO hasn't made another yet.

this is because of the jamplay you can not pass the first level or disguise yourself because the target you want to fall asleep with chloroform or I know what to do. We go much faster than you when you sneak if you look too loud and it breaks the ground and warns the guards who come and you watch It kills you and such games come impractical now he tried and we gave up It is not worth the effort here to see if it goes or what it is and clearly I eat trash

This was extremely thorough and even handed. It was a pleasure to see the links between the two games I have played in the series so far: Hitman 2, back before I stopped playing videogames, and Hitman 3, this year, after I started playing videogames again. Videogames are amazing these days.
