What a joy to watch. A couple of questions remain for me though: 1) If you get gigafed innervates, would you just do arcane blast spam and outperform the normal rotation by a lot? How much diminishing returns on further innervates is there? In a 3:30 min Patchwerk fight, if you get 4 innervates, is that a huge gain or is spamming arcane blast nonstop just like 5-10% more dmg than using arcane missles, even with 4+ innervates? 2) Why exactly do tricks go on warlocks except from execute? I get that they should be given to whatever deals most damage in the current part of the fight, but I don't understand how warlocks would profit more from it in the beginning of fights, where mages blast through all their CDs. I know it doesnt stack with arcane power, but tricks could be set before and after arcane power just fine, when icy veins is still going.

2) Because you can snapshot corruption with tricks as affli where you keep refreshing the buffed DoT through the fight using shadow bolt filler

@@kjeksomanen 2) I know that much, but that is only important for the 1st tricks at the beginning, the upcoming tricks at 36 and 72 seconds and so on can be used for other classes, no?

Depending on fight I always tricks the lock first for snapshot, if I have to tricks a tank to be able to blast then I go lock 2nd. Once they have the snapshot I’d just tricks the other rogue or highest damage with communication if CDs are coming up for them.

Hey Crix. I've watched several of your videos and I wanted to ask: while destruction be viable in pve, in naxx40 and ulduar? I like affliction a lot but I wouldn't mind some variety gameplay-wise. I don't plan on playing demonology as it's not my cup of tea also. Thanks !!!

Yeah Destro is 100% Viable all game. Aff will jsut beat it out pretty much throughout besides some bosses. The perfect time to play Destro is early and then get ready to swap to Aff in Ulduar, besides a couple bosses that Destro will be better on.

About focus magic, if you're progressing on a hardmode, and dps is of no issue, but healing is, you'd certainly give it to a healer.

@@cactophone4552 Its essentially the same old question of giving innervate to dps, or healers. And yes, crit is less of a benefit to most healers on most fights, in most situations. But given the specific scenario I laid out; dps check is of zero issue, but you're consistently wiping over and over again to lack of healing. In that scenario, you give healers more attention.

Can you show us how to use these class discords to find useful information? Half the time I check any class discord channel I see a bunch of neckbeards arguing about irrelevant shit. Besides using the search feature, what's the best way to get useful information from these discords?

This would be a nice video tbh. But yeah I use the search feature alot. And then each of them have FAQ, Pins and other channels in there as well.

@@jamiestwrt yes, a lot of pinned resources and !tags, people ask questions and those usually get answered and otherwise just conversation slowly developping into theorycrafting. without shitposting there's nobody to theorycraft.

Sunwell gear is better than brutal. Brutal had resilience which is a wasted stat in pve

Mages say "the warlocks will apply the spell vulnerability debuff with shadow bolt" and the warlocks say "the mages will apply the spell vulnerability debuff with scorch" 😂 I guess it's not getting applied lol

You'll probably run a demo lock which has no issues picking up the talent or keeping the debuff up with ISB.

So, everyone has a hard on for engineering but I'm just left here wondering how ya'll are affording that. I'm sitting here with a few hundred gold accross all my characters and if I swapped from one of my gathering professions, which are my few gold sources, I dont know what I'd do. I want the haste buff, but the SP buff from tailoring is better and in the meantime, my mage has skinning for the crit and gold.

Frost isn’t the worst. I was in a relatively casual Guild in Wrath compared to you speed runners but they let me play Frost throughout the whole expansion and I only had trouble beating the S-tier specs on the meters. I understand wanting the best possible spec in a speed running environment but I think people forget that damage is damage at the end of the day and if you aren’t pushing for record times, a difference of a few hundred DPS in Wrath isn’t the biggest deal. It’s not going to make the difference between wiping or downing the boss.

No joke, prob 80-90% of mages I run into in lfg dungeons are swp Blizzard bots that can't speak English. I've literally saw several mages spam Blizzard on single target bosses... seriously ~75-80% of their damage is blizzard. Outside of my guild I've not ran into a good mage

yes, a lot of mages are just boosting/farming alts and a lot of mages don't bother to minmax the spec at all, especially arcane which benefits a lot from mana mangement and cooldown usage around haste cap in p5 for example. most mages people encounter are rly damn bad.

You're just wrong, tbh, frost mages bring winters chill and focus magic, the fastest way to get 5 stacks of BC on any mob is to just blizzard it, they're essential for spell cleave, better than arcane and fire... all because of winters chill
