I actually found it hard to follow, compared to other video tuts, but it was worth the extra time in the end. Those 'half double crochet extended' and 'half double crochet extended together' were a nightmare to follow, (until I wrote out the pattern so I didnt get lost) but like I said, well worth it, the fronts of the boots are tidyer, better shaped, overall prettier, than any other booties I've made. I've never used those sequence of stitches before, but I will in future! Thanks x x
@HappyCrochetClub5 жыл бұрын
:) You are very welcome :) Yes booties always a little bit hard and takes long time to make this why I do not have lots of videos exactly for baby booties. Extended stitches makes like double stitch - less holes. If make just 2 hdc together or 2 dc together for booties often comes out like holes between stitches I Hope you understand what I talking about. If making extended stitch you are making extra chain / loop, and this makes stitch like double thick and stronger shape. These booties can make only for own baby or present if for sale or charity then too much work to do. :)
@jandancer335 жыл бұрын
@@HappyCrochetClub hi, and thanks for the reply. That was exactly my point, the dc technique used in every other pattern/video I've followed, leaves holes, and flappy thin structure. Without a doubt, I'll use your way going forward. And now I've worked through 2 booties, and can recognise the stitches I've made, it is much easier to follow the video without getting lost. This is my fave booties pattern, thanks x

I think only there can be problem and do not forget do not count 1 stitch because we join 2sts together and get 1 stitch only instead 2. before you join you see left side like 3 chains previous round sl st, ch 1 when we started and 1st worked stitch. I just thinking I do not know where can be mistake. You have to do sl st into 1st worked stitch

Hi, I do not know what size do you like to make. If a little bit a bigger, you can use thicker yarn and/or bigger crochet hook. More chains, then you have to add more stitches in each round where sc stitches. I think it is complicated. If 6-12 months you can use worsted weight yarn #4.

You should try make straight join stitch end of rounds - for all rounds the same size slip stitch. When you make 2 hdc together last round before ankle left side try make longer stitches then booties will be straight shape.

Hello. I just love these booties, Do you have instructions for 6-9 month size?
@HappyCrochetClub4 жыл бұрын
No, sorry! 6-9 Months (Approx. 4 ½”) You have to get 4 1/2" sole. One way to use aran/worsted weight yarn. If it is not hard for you to try worsted weight yarn and make sole and then you see how big sole you have with 3.50mm hook? If still too small can use 3.75 mm hook but many people do not have this size hook. More bigger hook I do not suggest because then booties will be without shape. Smaller hook is better for shoes, booties. Try please and then come back. If you got sole 4 1/2" then all ok you can continue all booty will come out in right size.

You can use Nr 4 worsted weight/aran yarn then booties will be bigger. I suggest thicker yarn and 4mm hook. You have to make 4" 4.5" sole if next size up, try make sole first there only 3 rounds if you have 4" or 4.5" sole then all correct all booty will be correct size. Try first and then we can talk again. If too big then need smaller hook.

For sole still can make 3.5mm crochet hook. There need get this 3.5" sole. For booties better if you can make more tight stitches then will be better shape.

I have watched several videos on making baby booties. And have followed the instructions as prescribed but, for some reason, my soles are never flat and defined as in the videos, (realizing that the propose of crocheting into the “back” chain, is to create a distinct border around the sole). Nonetheless, my soles are wobbly and distorted. Any comment on how to resolve?
@HappyCrochetClub4 жыл бұрын
Maybe you crochet too loosely. You can make 2 soles then will be stronger. make all booty and then make just one more sole, and then join together soles. From 46 min you can see how to join double soles. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gH-ZoIWBnbZjfpY

I made more booties, all the same pattern like you already made, just ankle part will be with lace, matching to basic hat what I made with lace turn up brim. I just do not have much time, to make video because I working as well. I will list soon. :) and 2 hats with bobble stitch also on the my desk :) need make video. Normally I making 0-3 months hat and then if people ask then bigger sizes. Takes so long time to create pattern first and then make video, and then I watch video again and write subtitles for people who asked etc, 30 min video always all day I spending :) but I like spend time for crochet and if I receive nice comment gives me motivation to make more. :)

Ha ha I'm afraid I cant figure out what you are doing on the cuffs, the back post, front post, I just couldnt replicate it. I even started a new square, just to try and get the hang of what you did, and failed. It would be great if you could teach those stitches in a video, slowly, step at a time. In the end I just did all front posts and got a pretty swirly effect, but I'd still love to learn whatever it was you did in your tutorial. Again, thanks x

:) Maybe I will but actually I do not teach how to crochet, I create patterns myself and then share with people my patterns. Also I have many hats and mittens with this stitch FPdc and BBpdc also you can make your video more slow. Need go to settings and choose video speed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWWVkGdua62le7c here lady showing how to do BPdc and FPdc :)

@@HappyCrochetClub oh wow, thank you, I'll watch that now. I've been practicing those stitches, and think I've got it figured out. You have to give yourself plenty of tension to create the stitches, or you end up with rows of uneven tight little knots, like my first attempts lol. You look like you are using elastic to crochet lol, it's so effortless and flawless. You make it look so easy! Thanks for all your help, I WILL conquer this set of stitches lol, if it's the last thing I do!

@@HappyCrochetClub that video is great, thank you. I'd done the front post stitch, but was making the back post too tight and making a mess
