Love this. If it helps anyone else, here is a little table of contents so you can find specific parts when you need them: Foundation Row: 1:50 Cable row 1: 2:15 Cable row 1 back side: 9:10 Cable row 2: 13:15 Cable row 2 back side: 17:30 Cable row 3: 21:30

For those who are new to cabling, I highly recommend doing some easier pieces available on KZbin before trying this. It took me quite a while to get it. I wrote down some instructions since I didn't always have access to the video. Here it is for those who want it. Oana cable pattern Medium weight worsted acrylic yarn, 4 mm hook. All Rows indicate forward rows only. Chain 34, R1: DC in each chain starting w/ 3rd chain from the hook. R2: ch 2, 2 DC, 1st cable: skip 2 stitches, 2 FPLDC, go back to skipped stitches, 2 FPLDC, DC in very next stitch, 2 FPDC, 1 DC, [MAIN CABLE: 3 FPDC, skip 3, 3 FPLDC, go back to skipped, 3 LDC (these are done from the back, work your LDC into the stitch not the post. 3 FPDC] 1 DC, 2 FPDC, 1 DC, cable 2: skip 2 stitches, 2 FPLDC, go back to skipped stitches, 2 FPLDC, 2 DC. ALL back rows are the same: ch 2, DC in all stitches, follow pattern of dc’s, bp’s. When get to cables, ALWAYS start with the cable closest to your hook. No crossing, no LDC. R3: ch 2, 2 DC, 1st cable: skip 2 stitches, 2 FPLDC, go back to skipped stitches, 2 FPLDC, DC in very next stitch, 2 FPDC, 1 DC, [MAIN CABLE: skip 3, 3 FPLDC, go back, 3 FPLDC, skip 3, 3 FPLDC, go back, 3 FPLDC], 1 DC, 2 FPDC, 1 DC, cable 2: skip 2 stitches, 2 FPLDC, go back to skipped stitches, 2 FPLDC, 2 DC. Repeat these 2 patterns: R2, back row, R3, back row, R2, back row, R3, etc.

My first time learning to crochet a cable stitch I found you're video very helpful. I like the fact it's fast paced.. I could keep up pretty well. And pause if I needed to. Some tutorials are made to help beginners crochet some are more for those who already know a lot about crochet. Yours is more meant for those who know a lot which I'm happy about because I get bored listening to others explain what I already know. So thank you for this video :)

Hi Oana I have been looking for a cable pattern for 3 days now and when I saw this one I immediately loved it. I am making a cushion cover and so with my hook and wool I measured and decided on repeating this pattern twice with just1 simple dc so that I ended up with 2 of the small braids side by side, but also 2 of the larger ones going up the pillow twice, and it is going to be beautiful! You do very good tutorials...love the way you explain things...wish you much success!

When repeating the pattern how many normal double crochets go in between the first 30 and the second set of 30? I tried 2 then repeated the pattern and had stitches left over then I tried 4 and had too few? I wonder if I messed up somewhere. PS I don't have a problem understanding you at all and I LOVE all of your videos!!! Thank you
@paintedg0ddess8 жыл бұрын
You need to check how many crochet stitches you have in your foundation row. There should only be 2 dc between the set of 30. :: *Two dc, small cable, dc, two front post dc, dc, large cable, dc, two front post dc, dc, small cable* then repeat.

Oana thank you for this tutorial. I’ve never crocheted cable stitches before. I actually think it’s got some problems on my project. For one thing, I started with maybe 30-34 cast stitches just like you did, but it look like on your first row of cable stitches that you finish the row faster than I did and I still have posts left to finish. I also tried to do the crossover to the back posts the way you did but it looks rather messy. I wish I could send you a picture of what I did so you could see perhaps what I did wrong

I notice that a long dc is used in this pattern. But I have seen some cable patterns worked with a treble crochet stitch instead. Does the type of stitch depend on personal preference, or are some patterns better with long dc and others better with tc?
@isabellereid98396 жыл бұрын
If anyone think this explanation goes too fast, there's an option to make it slow down a notche. Clic the video screen for have all the option of the video play. There's 3 dot at the top right corner. Click it and then change the "PLAYBACK SPEED" From normal to the bottom choice numbers for slow it down. All the number above "Normal speed" will accelerate the video witch you doesn't want it too. I had to do the same thing for some other crochet and knitting videos as the uploader did it too fast. So I am not the one who's complaining after the video makers that she's doing it too fast. KZbin have the option for this problem.

If you want to make a blanket/afghan, the multiple will still be 30 +4. Does it fall neatly to continue the pattern to the end. Maybe I could use a yarn marker to show the end of each section. Please comment
@oanaoroscrochet8 жыл бұрын
you can use a marker , but after 3 or 4 rows are completed , the design will be clear enough to continue on without problems, the multiple is the same , I give an idea, you can work stripes of the width of the swatch that I made and the lenghts that you need for the afghan at the end you just slip stitch them together on the right side and you have it , Oana
