The Crochet Crowd

This is the right handed version on crocheting a foundation chain. Foundation chains are more complex but allow for better edging possibilities. Mikey recommends using Foundation Chains as much as possible, especially when doing edging.

Mikey, I could hug you for posting this. I was seriously *this* close to losing my mind over this damn stitch! I tried probably 8 different videos before I found yours. I don't know why I didn't save myself the trouble and look yours up first! You are the best. Much love.

Thank GOD! I have been unable to figure this out after crocheting for 20+ years! NO ONE explains it nearly as well as you do!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have fiddeling around with this stitch off and on for over a year, and just could;t "get it." After watching your video, I had that DUH moment when all of a sudden it made sense. Your tutorials have helped me through several projects, and when someone asks me how I learned the technique, I just tell them that "my friend, Mikey" taught me how to do it.

I like how you do a slip stitch. My granddaughter is wanting to learn to crochet. I am teaching her to do slip stitch. I tell her pretend it is two frogs playing leap frog. The frog in the back leaps over first frog. Then that frog decides to jump higher. He jumps over the hill. After trying it a few times, she loves it.

Is this the same as a chainless sc foundation? If so, it is done different than the ones I have seen. I need to make sure I have the fch correct for a pattern & when I look up videos, I'm shown 1 way on 1 and then another on yours. I've seen it where you do as you've shown except instead of drawing thru 2 loops to complete the stitch, you must 1st pull thru only one loop to create a chain & THEN pull through 2. Also, for each stitch thereafter, you insert hook in chain before the 1 on your hook
