Thank you so much for the awesome tutorial! I just finished up my sweater and it turned out fabulous!! I started learning how to crochet a month and a half ago and this is my first ever sweater so I'm very proud :D I did end up with slightly shorter sleeves that come to a mid/three-quarter length, but I think it's due to tension & blocking differences not the pattern.

lovely sweater! thank you for sharing. But I don't really want such wide sleeves at the bottom/wrist nor a ribbed band, how can I make the sleeve slimmer? just decrease as I go down? I would actually like a small flare and need room at the top of sleeve (big arms!) but not so much as you had

I've made two of these now since you've posted this, this is an absolutely lovely pattern; thank you so much for sharing !!! I wasn't able to figure out the stretchy cast on in a timely manner so I ended up chaining loosely. I also skipped the beautiful ribbed cuffs (as I haven't tried ribbing yet and it's a bit scary for me atm), and it still fits quite well; highly recommend trying this raglan!! 🧡

Probably less so as cotten is much firmer, it will make it a bit softer but it won’t change the size too much

I think I made my initial neckline too big! It keeps stretching as I continue the piece. Are there any stitches I can do to the first stretchy cast to add more coverage to the neckline that got stretched out?

for the sleeves did you do “3 dc, ch1” for the entire sleeve or just the first round?
@averpaula

It’s 3dc, ch1 for all of the main body and sleeves 🫶 (i had to actually go back and rewatch it myself, it’s been so long since I last made anything like this)

How do you account for different sizes? Should I be increasing on the body section?
@averpaula
@averpaula Жыл бұрын
Crocheting in the raglan pattern means that it’s adaptable to your own body size, as you are simply crocheting until you’ve reached the desired length for your armpit, and you can try it on as you go to decide when to stop increasing! As mentioned during the calculation section in the video, leaving less stitches for the arms and more for the body, creates a wider fit (20/60) whereas if you leave more stitches for the arms and less for the body (30/60), it will create a slimmer fit (i hope that makes sense) :)

im on my 3rd row and it seems to be ruffled even though the stitches are all even as I have 8 chain spaces between the arms and 11 on the front between the corner stitches will it flatten out as I do more rows?
@jeeachadha
@jeeachadha 10 ай бұрын
I Think it’s because of uneven tension. If you block your project so far, and stretch to make it even ajd unruffled and then ensure even tension as you continue crocheting, it should improve (?? I think)

This is a great video and your instructions are easy to follow but for some reason my sweater is starting to curl up. This is my second attempt and it’s still curling 😩
@Smulenify
@Smulenify 6 ай бұрын
Could be a few things. First it's important to turn each round, because if you work in the same direction each time things will get curly and twisted. Your stitches might be a bit too tight, so you can try loosening up your tension or using a larger hook. Some curling can be blocked out, or it can get less curly once you get more length. It can also help a bit to add ribbing on the edges.

is there anyway to make the sleeves slimmer? baggy sleeves really are a sensory nightmare for mw :(
@averpaula
@averpaula Жыл бұрын
Yes it just depends how you divide your body & arm measurements :) If you take away 10% from your total stitches you will get slimmer sleeves (instead of the 20% that i did)

Hey! I’d finish my project and then go back in on the neckline with a row or two of decreasing single crochets that will definitely tighten up the project
