I know this is dumb to do when I haven't seen much of the video but I want to thank you already. I haven't crocheted in ages and wanted to pick up on granny squares since I knew they could be attached together for bigger projects. I figured I would try to make a blanket for my nephew but thanks to the sizes of the squares and the blanket size I'm aiming for, I wanted to add boarders too. So thank you.

Hi I am so happy I came across this tutorial, I have made to lots of different squares for blankets for a baby boy and girl, watched loads of tutorials on how to join but not one explained how to do the corners, I should have known to come back to you as I have recently made a Granny stripe blanket from your tutorial and am very pleased with myself that it turned out so well. I live in Cheshire UK and am crocheting for charity as it keeps me busy during the day and off course I love crocheting anyway. Thank you so much for explaining so clearly,

I've been crocheting for 6 months and looking into learning how to do the solid granny square, then joining to make a blanket so this is perfect! Looks like more individual work, but the amount of time and effort into it makes it even more satisfying when done. Thinking about making some daisy squares to add to it as well since it is one of my favorite flowers. Thank you for such a helpful video - have a great day!

I've just started crocheting, I find your tutorials very helpful-clear and easy to understand, I especially like that it is English/U.K as most that I've view are American which can be confusing. Mine don't look so uniform as yours do, but I'm only on my 3rd ever square (1st solid square) so hopefully after learning the sequences and more practice I'll have myself a blanket, so thanks :-)

Hi Sarah-Jayne! Is there a way to join squares without making a ridge? I love all your videos. After watching many many videos on how to crochet granny squares, yours is the first to help me to actually get it!! Thanks!
@Ccolagirl6 жыл бұрын
I can't believe no one has answered your question! Melissa, instead of putting the squares back to back to join, you would put them right sides together. This would give you a flat join instead of a ridge. Also, I like to join all my squares continuing all the way across horizontally and then vertically. That way I don't have have a bunch of tails, and I don't have to keep stopping and starting.

I love your tutorials so I came here looking for help on how to join 2 granny squares that are very large. I have made 2 granny squares that were made using the diamond granny square technique consisting of 3 boxes each. My intention is to change the 2 large squares into a rectangle and then add a border around the two once they are joined so that it will fit my grandaughter ‘s twin bed. Would I use the same technique as for these tiny granny squares? I’m not sure since I only have 2 very large granny squares to join, not a bunch of tiny ones. I’m not sure that I want a raised line going across the middle of the blanket so maybe you can suggest a different way to do this? Your help is much appreciated. Trish

Thank you 😊 If your border is rippling/waving that usually means you have too many stitches. There's a bit of trial and error involved but I do have a tutorial offering some guidance here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2GXqHqwd9l_rbs If the border you've worked is around a solid granny square I would double check that you haven't worked too many stitches.

@bellacococrochet3 жыл бұрын
There's really no particular place where you should weave in ends, just as long as it's somewhere close to the yarn end that will hold it securely. You can see my tutorial here with some tips on how to keep your ends secure: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKK7dpaHn8RjgpI 😊

I am almost done with a solid square granny blanket. I ended up making 56 squares. Each square was 4 rounds ending with 19 double crochet on each side. I came across this video and put a border on mine as well. So, I'm guessing, with the border, they were about 7 inches each. I had 8 squares horizontally and 7 vertically.
@banglish_furi9 жыл бұрын
How many balls of yarn did you need to complete this blanket? Love it!!!!

@abimullen91424 жыл бұрын
I've made a few of these now brilliant vid but when I do the boarder the square bends in on itself any tips?
@bellacococrochet4 жыл бұрын
Borders can be really tricky to get right - I would try going up a hook size for the border as that will make the stitches bigger which should stop it curling inwards. You can also block the blanket once it’s finished by stretching it out and pinning it into shape 😊
