I too have been using this method for years...not only for finishing off but also for changing yarns. I try to never use knots in my work and this simple technique helps eliminate them completely. Thank you again, Mikey!

WOW - that is THE first finishing technique I have ever seen I feel satisfied about...I HATE working the ends in - only because I know they eventually slowly work thir way OUT...this looks secure - love it - gonna finish ALL my projects this way....FINALLY - after all the hard work in the project - a way to STAY FINISHED!!! Thanksa million Mikey!!!

I have always finished off my projects using this technique. I learned the technique when I learned to knit and just carried it over when I learned to crochet. Thank you for reassurance that I am doing it correctly.

I have been doing this method for a number of years but usually leave a longer "tail" just to be safe. and instead of a darning needle,I use a plastic canvas needle because the end is round and blunt and I find it works just as good. Happy crocheting everyone.

Pretty smart.. I have an afgan that is coming apart so maybe have to go back and do this to the places that are fraying. Thanks for great tip.

I've been doing this for all the years I have crocheted. Sometimes I do even more than the 3 directions depending on the yarn and the stitch. When I have two ends within the item because I changed strands because of color change or running out of a skein and starting a new one, I get creative and run the ends in different areas so that they don't get bunched up. However, the technique is essentially the same as what you have shown.

This is the technique I've always used, because I'm so anal about the yarn popping out! Though it's a little more time consuming, it is WELL worth the effort.

I've always weaved twice. So far, nothing has come unraveled as far as I know. I like the idea of using a drop of fabric glue to keep the end from popping out. I have to try that!

I weave in and also before I cut the yarn I add a drop of fabric glue so it is inside the stitch and can't be seen. Then it never comes out. Just my way. Love your videos.

Thank you for all the crotchet patterns you showed to me which is helpful and have benefited from it. I like the ones where you draw your patterns which is so easy to follow which i was looking for it . I would like to start a project on a queensize blanket and can you please advise how many chains I need to do or is there a pattern diagram I can follow. Thanks for your help which is greatly appreciated

I go back and forth twice like this but never thought of three times. Thanks. But, my question is this. Doesn't going back and forth three times in the same area make the edge awfully thick?

When weaving back, it doesn't hurt in the least bit to literally drive your needle through the previous yarn. You end up with the locked effect of the Russian join.

I use this method also, but when I go back through the stitches the second time, I try to pierce the yarn that I threaded through the first time to make sure the end will not come undone.

The other way to do it is to finish the last stitch and then pull the yarn thru and you have the tail..use your needle and then use the method of finishing off the project and it looks like a stitch and then you sew your ends in..

Is this for any project? Iam doing a blanket and when I weave the ends and knot it then cut the string. U can still see a small piece sticking out where I cut it.

I have used this methods for years and years. My work never comes undone. I always wash my finished piece when I am done before giving it to the person I made it for. When I open the machine, I call it "My moment of Truth".

never heard of this, I get to the end and just tie in the lope and that's it, it never comes open. I don't like this method because you'll adding more yarn and its loose.
