Thanks for sharing your beautiful pattern! I just printed it. I have a few questions I hope you can answer. To make a size for age 2-4 it says 260 yards of yarn. Is this 260 yards for both colors used for the double strand or do I need 260 yards of each color? Do you have the finished size for each size? I'd really like to know the size of these before making. It doesn't say on the pattern. Thanks!!!!!

I am wondering about this also. Would like to know the finished measurement size before making to make sure I get enough yarn for.
@Hectanooga17 жыл бұрын
The largest adult size will take 5 balls of Red Heart Super Saver. Size all depends on how tall you need to make it. Up to the underarms is usually the largest that would be needed. So since people are all of varying heights, it's discretionary... so a good projection would be: 5 balls for the largest adult sizes, 3 balls for 12 to 16. 2 balls for all sizes under 12. (Gauge is 2 stitches per inch, the largest adult size I have is 81 stitches, therefore that would be approx. 40 inches around. Every 5 stitches requires 2 yards of yarn (2 strands of 1 yd. each.) So if making an adult size, and the person needs it to be 5 feet tall, that would be 1920 yards, for a 6 ft tall person.)

If it is a chunky yarn, or a bulky yarn, yes, otherwise if you follow the pattern, it will not turn out the correct size.

What weight is the yarn? How many skins do i need for a 12-18onth old? What us the name of this yarn you are using? I cant wait to make this. Im making it for a coworker for her grandbaby. Please answer as soon as you can. If anyone can answer my question id be very happy.
@Hectanooga111 ай бұрын
It's worsted weight yarn, you could use Bernat Premium or Bernat Super Saver, you will need to buy 2 skeins, because it is worked with 2 strands and a large 9 mm hook.

Thank you so much for making this video and adding written instructions. Do you happen to know how to do one with crocodile stitches for a child and adult I can not find a single video or pattern for one and I have no idea how to change it to the size I need. You are so easy to follow I'm so glad I found your video I have searched for hours to find one that uses two strands of yarn like this.
@Hectanooga17 жыл бұрын
Hi Britt... hmmm.... it is not difficult to make a crocodile stitch mermaid tail, but it uses so much yarn, and that is the sole reason I did not write up a pattern using that stitch. Because the crocodile stitch is worked on a base of "V' stitches, the increase would happen in the row of V stitches, and 2 V stitches per one crocodile stitch are required. Now that you have asked though, it will nag at me to work up a pattern. In the meantime, this gal does a mermaid stitch mermaid tail, and shows how to increase at approx. 18 minutes in the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/moikn2ydqs-El7c

Hi Emi, is it me, or does the video jump from the first round in which you are doing 12 dc in the ring, to what appears to be the 3rd or 4 the round where you spoke about 2 dc in each stitch?
@Hectanooga18 жыл бұрын
Hi Gracist... I don't think there is anything missing: 1st row: 12 dc in the ring. 2nd row: 2 dc in each stitch around 3rd row: 2 dc in every 2nd stitch around. Is that what you are seeing?
@ShoSensei8 жыл бұрын
Hectanooga1 - Crochet, Knitting, Jewelry, Crafts, Cooking Hi Emi, Maybe it's just me, but after you show us how to slip stitch and form a ring, you chain 2 and tell us to make 12 dc in the ring....you do two dc and say that you're going to do 12 dc in the ring.... I hear the video being paused, and when the video comes back, the piece is MUCH bigger and you are saying 'ok, I've done 2 dc in each stitch around.....it's like I'm missing where you finished the 12 dc in the ring and the part where you start the 2nd round of 2 dc in each stitch around.....

Yes, you are right... I see that now. I had so much trouble taping this video, and I had to re-do it... and I guess I left out a segment... now I don't know what to do about that. If I re-do it and re-list it....hmmm.... maybe I will just re-do, and leave this one up with a note on it, and re-list the one with the correction.....I guess that is what I will do, I don't want to delete this one, as it has gone out to so many already in a notice.... gonna see if I can find that part in the raw footage... hopefully I don't have to re-make the project. Thanks for being so consciencious!!!

@Hectanooga16 жыл бұрын
You can't download the pattern from my blog. I don't think I have an option to add downloadable patterns, if so, I have not found a way to do that. My blog is an old one, from way back about 10 years ago, and if I update to a new one, I will lose all the patterns I have loaded up on it. You can highlight it to be able to go right to the pattern, and this is how you would do it. Open the pattern page on my blog, and then highlight the url at the top of the page in blue... then drag the blue url onto your desktop, and then you can just click on the desktop icon, and be taken directly to the pattern any time you want. I hope that helps! Kind regards, Emi
