If you want to save some money with your crafting, I can tell you a hack for the mod podge. I am an artist that makes some 3D pieces using fabric. There are mainly floral art pieces. Anyways, I learned to stiffen the fabric for the petals and leaves to make a solution of just simple water and white craft tacky glue (2 parts glue to 1 part water.) Once your piece is saturated you can either put it in the oven at the lowest temp to set or let it sit for at least 24 hours to dry before using. :)

This is the method I used, since I had PVA and no Mod Podge 😉

So I have started upcycling plastic bags for the rope part and will be making cat baskets as we go along. I can tie up a lot of plastic for years this way and the cats will love it (They are a joy to crochet for). Depending on the yarn you end up using you can still wash these babies too.
@RaspberryRenegade2 жыл бұрын
I was just thinking that plastic yarn might make a good substitute for the rope, too! Do you think you'll make long chains to crochet around or no?

Love this! I truly enjoy and appreciate you and your energy. You’re the creative friend I need! I’m going to make earrings and a rectangle area rug using your awesome instruction 😊 Not sure of the cost of the modge podge stiffy but I see the bottle is quite small. In the past I have wrapped cotton or embroidery string around small balloons to make string eggs for Easter decorations and I used the concentrated liquid starch to get my stiffy 😜😂 it’s like the Aerosol spray starch that we spray on clothes to iron them. The brand I currently have is Sta-Flo 64oz/2 quart/1.89L $4 dollars at Walmart here in the states. It says for fabrics & crafts. Also supposedly there’s a cornstarch recipe as well. I hate that your only getting a handful of coozy drink holders per bottle of the modge podge stiffy. With my eggs I would dip the string wrapped balloon into a bowl and hung them to drip once dry I popped the balloon. Far warning they are STIFF. With other crafts I have poured the starch into a spray bottle. I’m helping with using the concentrated starch I will be able to use my stash of acrylic yarns for the area rug because I have became a yarn hoarder 🤦🏻♀️🤣
