How very clever! Double, a crocheted ribbed tea cozy and a button to close. Nice fit. Thanks.

Thank you so much for this tutorial and the free blog hop pdf pattern offered today (Feb. 3, 2023). Being in the US, all my tea pots usually are measured by quartz, sometimes, not much by cups, the details you give on how to measure the pot is very helpful!. Love your large tea pot, I'd love to purchase one for myself. You are a very good teacher, lot's of details and explaining the step's. Oh yes, have liked and subscribed to your channel and saving this tutorial to my library. Also, will go through your other video's soon (this week-end)! Thank you again for sharing...

Modified it a little to work with gauge 4 yarn, and with a slightly different shape tea pot spout. Also wanted to allow the little knob on the top to stick out to hold the top on, and added another button under the handle. It came out perfectly! Love it!! Thanks!

You can just make the chain as long as the height of your tea pot and it will work perfectly :)

Hi! Does it matter if I were to use thinner yarn, such as 4-weight as opposed to the chunky one you used? Thank you in advance for your help xx
@CosyRosieCrochet11 ай бұрын
The finished size would be different if you use a smaller yarn, but if you're following the pattern, you can check the sizing on your teapot as you go and increase the number of rows in the sections. I'd also adjust your hook size down to a 6mm to prevent the cozy being too gappy.

Hi Fiona, do you have ideas on how to adapt this to fit a teapot without a spout? A lot of borosil ones with infusers just have an opening near the lid, not a spout at the bottom. Alternatively, are there other designs more suited for teapots like those?

Hi I have a question I would make a cosy for a tea pot with an handle on the top instead of on the side
@katherinewhittaker4093 Жыл бұрын
It a 4 cup pot by the way
@CosyRosieCrochet Жыл бұрын
You could work the tea cosy the same way but don’t synch in across the top to allow for the handle; just make the cosy the height of the edge of the handle base

My grandma has a 4 cup and I've been going crazy trying to find a pattern that i can easily adapt for the weird size. Would love any advice im VERY new to this 😅 ❤
@CosyRosieCrochet8 ай бұрын
You would need to adjust the starting chain to the height of the teapot and then follow the spout instructions - skipping the number of chains that gives you the right size opening - hope that helps :)

May I ask, a lot of patterns say when deal with something that’ll get very hot (like a coaster or cosy) then to use natural fibers or the acrylic yarn will melt . Have you ever had this issue at all? Please and thank you
@CosyRosieCrochet Жыл бұрын
If it was direct heat from a stove pot or something out of the oven, I would definitely say to use cotton but even if you warm the teapot and then put boiling water in, some of the heat will be absorbed before reaching the cosy. I’ve never experienced a problem with my tea cosy made from acrylic.

Does anyone know how to keep the pom pom on so well?
@CosyRosieCrochet8 ай бұрын
I use the tails created when making the pom pom and thread each tail through slightly different places, just off centre of the top and securely knot them on the inside of the cosy
