I'm pretty sure that patterns are written JUST to confuse new people...lol! Tutorials like this are crucial for novices like myself to learn this stuff. Your instructions are easy to understand and in your video your fingers do not block what you are doing. In so many other's videos their hand and fingers get in the way which means that I cannot see the beginning of their work and the last stitches. Thank you.

I used this stitch for a light jacket. Made sleeves in a sweater where the back and front were garter st. also, wide bands of that st. in top of that garter front and back panels . Came out beautiful.

@sohogirl08 Have you done a Google search? Try typing "crochet v stitch" and "Images." Or you can work up a small swatch while changing colors to see if you like it. Another option is to use multi-colored yarn.

So helpful! I was following a scarf patten in a book but it was telling me to do 2 chs between the dbls instead of 1 ch. I knew it wasn't going to come out right because it looked nothing like their picture. Then I found your video. So far it looks great!

Some v-stitches have 2 chains, but they should skip more chs to accommodate that width. they have larger holes.

@debbie8188 In this case the +3 is the turning chain. I forms the first double crochet. Sometimes it counts as spaces and stitches. It depends on the pattern. Here is what it Usually stands for (but not always) +1= sc, +2=hdc or sc & ch 1, +3= dc or hdc & chain 1 or sc & ch 2.

I like this stitch for bulky textured yarns too. You can find the place to put your hook really easily.
