12:50 girl, I don’t know if the example you showed us here is the way you crochet 100% of the time, but if it is, that is the reason your hand cramps,every single time you finish a granny square. You can use one or more of your fingers on your working hand to stabilize the yarn that’s on your hook, so you don’t have to move your wrist around nearly as much in order to keep it there.
@Biancamakesit5 ай бұрын
Thank you for this info!!! I always just hold it the way I hold a pencil, but I’m gonna try what you suggested 🫶🏼😁

Hi, 🤗, There, You have to admit... Through All of your ordeal with sewing this Lovely Granny Square Blanket together....Your Lovely CAT is still by your side. 👍👍👍. He or She made me laugh, when it was running all under the Blanket & then pops up & out. Your expression was sooo funny, too. I wish I still had All my Cats with me. I Started with 10 then it went down to 8. And now it's 0. Cause, they All eventually went up to Heaven & are giving God & Jesus a lot of fun Laughs, now. So, Please, I know you dearly Love your Cat. But, it's just wanting a little attention at that moment. And you were busy at the time. "It's better to have 1 then....NONE". I DO MISS, All My Cats. Blessings to you & your Cat. 🙏. Sincerely, Elsa R. 64 yrs. young/old woman. From out in California. (I Crochet; Hand Knitting; Flatbed Knitting Machine; Embroidery; Sew by Hand; Plus, by Machine; & Needlepoint, too). So, I do my share of Crafts. That I Dearly Love, too. Take it easy when you have to put those square together. I know it's Time Consuming but in the end...Your blanket will be well, Loved & used. 🙄🤔👍👍👍👋. Stay Safe 😷. (Time: 6:13 am)....👋

I made a full size sunflower granny square blanket last year and got SO tired of making all the small squares! Next time I make something with granny squares I'm going with much larger squares which equals much less work joining them. I crocheted mine together instead of sewing them together but it wasn't any easier. I don't think there's really an easy way to do it...joining granny squares is a pain either way, especially trying to find a comfy position to do so. Your blanket turned out very pretty though! I'd say the discomfort was worth it 😘😀

I’ve just seen this video now. Have you tried ergonomic hooks - something with padding - it definitely helps with hand cramping. I taught myself to hold the hook like a knife rather than a pencil in order to use them. Made a big difference. Clover Amour are my favourites. Susan Bates has ergonomic ones too, or you might be able to buy a foam thingy to slip on the hook you already have. It’s a beautiful blanket!
