It’s so refreshing to see someone shake the salt and black pepper into the dish. I don’t use a grinder, but with the internet saturated with grinders, it’s almost a message that only immediately ground pepper and salt are acceptable. Always love your recipes, easy to follow, and I have good success with your recipes.

This brought back memories. I grew up in the 50's and 60's, and loved it when my mother made Sloppy Joes but I never paid any attention to what she used. I had to make a potful to feed 13 people so I improvised a recipe similar to yours. But I knew it did not taste like my mother's. When I was able to ask mom what she used, she just laughed and said she opened a bottle or two of Heinz Chili Sauce to add with chopped onions to the ground beef, and that was the entire recipe! To this day, I use the chili sauce when I'm in the mood for Sloppy Joes. Other recipes are delicious, but nothing will beat what our mothers cooked for us as kids. (But I'd still like to try your recipe because you make delicious food!)

My son will love this. Thanx, Catherine. When my son was a little fella, he wanted sloppy Joe's almost every day. I told a co-worker, he's ruining all his shirts. She said, when my kids were little, I fed them sloppy Joe's on a hot dog bun. He still wants them on a hot dog bun.

Great & Delicious recipe❤ the only thing I would do different is use the peppercorn grinder because fresh black pepper really adds flavor & 2 slices of the orange American cheese to each Sloppy Joe❤

It's something how food and good memories go together. For me your sloppy Joe's took me right back to summer at the beach with my cousins large family. We had church friends that owned an old weathered Victorian rite over a small cliff with 8 bedrooms, ancient board games, player piano, Victoria, you name it. Our parents parked the car and never used it until 2 weeks later we had to go home. Memories of a LIFETIME for the 14 or more of us, thanks!!

This looks awesome Catherine! 🤩 I love it when moms make your favorite meal on your birthday! 🎉 I'm sure my mom did but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. 😌 But since my brother's birthday is two and a half weeks after mine, we always celebrated together. We looked like twins and my mom even made us clothes alike. A shirt for him and a dress for me out of the same fabric. And even though we celebrated together, she would make each of us a separate cake.🎂 With 3 kids, parents take every advantage to lighten the load. But we still felt that we each got a special celebration.🥳 My birthday was a couple of weeks ago and my brother's is this Sunday. Growing up it was all about the cake. 😋 I really like using tomato soup instead of sauce! You don't have the bitterness when using the soup! Making this in the crockpot is a brilliant idea! 😘 It gets to simmer nicely and you can walk away! 😉 I can see where this would be a great idea for a kid's birthday party! 🥳 I bet you make special meals for your kids.☺️ You're such a great cook and you have so many great recipes! 🤗 Thanks for sharing another great recipe! 🥰

another great recipe. I actually love pressure canning sloppy joe to have in jars on my shelf so I can just warm it up on busy work days. I could make a LOT of this in my crock pot and jar it up and pressure can. It would also be great to cut up hot dogs and mix in with it then just layer it on the bus when it is heated through. Would make a great lunch for days that I teach. I could heat it and get it in my thermos for a hot lunch, I love that idea. It would also be great to stuff in a pita bread. The ideas are endless for this one. I love these ideas. I am starting a new job as a substitute teacher and forgot that I will need to pack lunches every day. It will be great to can this up and then make sure it is nice an hot while I am getting ready for work Then just filling my thermos up. Thank you so much for these ideas. And this could definitely be done on a weekend and have the jars ready to use by Monday. My canner, whom I have named Ethel, will be a happy girl. SHe has been neglected the last few weeks. I think she is now going to be busy again. She likes days when I film canning videos. And sometimes, Mr, Bubba the very spoiled guinea pig makes an appearance. He is quite the camera hog. Thanks again for the ideas. I LOVE sloppy joes. I never thought about doing them for school lunches.
