Let's not use that language, alpha, beta. It's based on bogus research on wolves in captivity and we can do better than that. Healthy, good, secure men should have more than two or three (if you include the new so called "sigma") archetypes they can be to fit well into society. We should give them the space.

The fact that Doug’s ex-wife loves Kamala is such a testament to all of them. To his ex, for being secure enough in her motherhood to not get jealous (of Kamala & Doug & the kids who have a lovely family unit and the kids obviously love Kamala). It’s a testament to Doug & Kamala that they’ve been good partners and respectful of his ex’s parenting rights. And finally, a testament to Kamala that she is confident enough to not compare herself to his ex, or get insecure about their past shared history.

@@Marshall_Stacks I don’t think showing a little compassion for dead Palestinian babies or those paralyzed by the polio outbreak is any more difficult than showing compassion for dead Israeli babies. I don’t think showing sympathy for Palestinian prisoners being raped by Israeli guards by metal objects until they suffered internal injuries is more difficult than showing sympathy for the women who were sexually abused by Hamas. I don’t think it’s any more difficult to shed a tear for 50,000 dead Palestinians than it is to be upset over the loss of 6 Israeli hostages. I’m capable of both. I’d like to believe most people are. Is it a “hot potato” issue? Sure - but largely because American politicians and media are parroting the lies of Netanyahu! Even Israeli citizens aren’t that gullible. Most of his people have a poor opinion of him and know that he’s morally responsible for the death of these hostages. I don’t know why politicians can’t condemn anti-Semitism and support Israel without feeling the need to support Bibi and his barbaric policies! Most people don’t think criticizing Trump makes you “anti-American”. But I also know the answer. Great interview! The more I see of the Harris/Walz families, the more I want them to win. Beating Trump is important, but now I feel I’m voting for something too. Its exciting. I’m glad Kamala has such great support in Doug. I’m counting on Hillary, Michelle and Nancy to be in her corner too. Harris/Walz are smart, dedicated and lead their lives with purpose. They even make policy discussions interesting. I listened to Walz on Ezra’s podcast. All that folksy flannel aside, he is one smart guy. I also watched Gwen speak and she’s great too. After the debate, I hope Kamala does more interviews. Maybe she could come on the Pod.

Doug both shows the genuine nature of a normal human being. VP Kamala and he show a great example to young people and couples of all creeds, codes, and attractions. Grace, Humility, and admitting that you should have kept your phone on you when your wife calls lol. These are the people I’d like my younger siblings and other family members to look up to and model their relationships after. Thank you PSA and Doug for a great interview. Looking forward to seeing the first gentleman in action!

I agree, completely. Two people building each other up is unstoppable. THATS just facts. If you’re spending time investing in each other in the same house with a complete true American family. Both families have teen and young adults, I love that Doug’s ex wife loves Kamala!! When you can mold and grow a complete family unit, it’s how life works well and they’ll bring that to us. Families not being able to do that and that where they can excel. Healing families means healing kids that are obviously in crisis with school shootings. Heal the families, help the kids.

@@kimberlysauber5601 the fact that Doug’s ex-wife loves Kamala is such a testament to all of them. To his ex, for being secure enough in her motherhood to not get jealous Kamala & Doug & the kids have a lovely family unit and the kids obviously love Kamala. It’s a testament to Doug & Kamala that they’ve been good partners and respectful of his ex’s parenting rights. And finally, a testament to Kamala that she is confident enough to not compare herself to his ex, or get insecure about their past shared history.

I'm from PA and if the election we're today Harris would win by at least 3% after the debate and barring any skullfukery by the right/Russia or a national disaster or something she'll win by 5%. 52%-47%. Also, in PA, I'd rather republicans stay home than vote for Harris. We have a Senate race that's key to holding the Senate, not to mention he's a carpet bagging Connecticut billionaire POS only running to give him and his buddies tax breaks and all the House seats in PA. Most republicans I know that are willing to vote for Harris/Walz will most definitely vote red down ticket to counter act it and I'd really like to not have my representative be a election denying, racist, sexist, bigoted magat anymore!!

Right? Would he have asked a female spouse? I feel like its a bit odd. This first male gentlemen is going to be interesting. I think he's going to have to learn to be even more careful than this in the future. He should be very careful commenting on anything at all regarding foreign policy which as a LA male lawyer might be difficult. I think saying,... It's a tragedy and we need peace should be it.

I get the reaction to the question, but I think it was also necessary. I don’t think it’s right to talk about the tragedy of what’s happening in Gaza without at least trying move the needle on pushing things toward a better place. Likewise it was appropriate for Doug to parry it away and for them not to press him on it

I'm a UK citizen, and didn't really know anything about Doug Emhoff before I saw his speech at the DNC. I very much enjoyed his speech, and he came across as a really decent guy, with no airs and graces, or false sides. I have seen a couple of other interviews with him, and it is so good to see how much he supports his wife in her very important role as the future President of the USA, who will surely save America from the Dreaded Curse of the Trump (who was bad enough the first time around, and the world doesn't need another 4 years of him running his country). [Btw: in the UK we use the word "trump" as an alternative to using the word "fart" - says it all, really!!]
