My guy get a cool glide microwave seaming iron. It makes this so much easier

People like to refer to loop pile generically as berber,when berber is actually a color. I believe you also refer to tweeds as speckled.

Nice I had the same carpet last month and used the same technique. 14x14 room.

You know I taught my Carpet Installer how to do this, I even cut a fill for him. You know on the next bedroom fill he did it his way from the top... his seam looked like crap, but his ego was in tact.

@@FloorsbySouthernboys thanks for responding!....do you only use it on certain types of carpet? Most installers I see using it on kanes & Stanton's but I have a friend that uses it on everything & he says he thinks everyone should.... what's your thought on it?
@FloorsbySouthernboys3 жыл бұрын
@@troyfowler6862 Yes, definitely good for high-end carpet and also lots of other things, such as hardwood, vinyl plank repairs, carpet patches, this tool is for so much more than just make it seems, if you’re in the industry you should have one for sure

So, I have a possible problem. I put a post on Reddit but no one was able to offer feedback, maybe you could? When I sent pictures back to the flooring company who hired the installer they said "it's form roll crush, the carpet they seamed is from the end of the roll. Have it steam cleaned (hot water extraction) and it will pull everything up to the same height and not anywhere as noticable." thoughts from you or anyone else? See link: www.reddit.com/r/HomeImprovement/comments/dw3zwm/tseam_carpet_install_done_wrong/ Too bad you're not in our area or we would have just hired you to do it. Love the quality of your work/videos!
@FloorsbySouthernboys4 жыл бұрын
steaming will help in some cases but not all ,make sure it wont void your warranty if it doesn't then i would try it before i replaced it

@@FloorsbySouthernboys thank you, I always try to do research on my own before bothering anyone but it's nice to have someone help. You shouldn't ever feel that you're required to reply as I know you get very little if any benefit where as I gain potentially lots. Anyway, long way of me saying i truly appreciate it!

Question I did a pattern match carpet today it showed the seam but as well the carpet was showing lines like if there is a seam, was doing it every 3’
@FloorsbySouthernboys6 жыл бұрын
Kevin Lopez If it was someone finds like there was the same then that is definitely where I would’ve put my same so I don’t know what to tell you outside of that but that’s what I would’ve done

Just watch a video where a guy used two iron on top of carpet to seam doorway and I mean regular irons not the new one that has the electrical tape!!! What hack are out there and guys were commenting how much they learned from him!!! This trade is in real trouble!!! Glad I'm retired
@jjrg7383 жыл бұрын
Carpet business is paying n thriving more than ever. That iron trick only works on small jobs with small seams. This trade is better than ever nowadays
@fredtowns783 жыл бұрын
@@jjrg738 the guy had 4 irons on this seam so it must be paying well if you can afford 4 iron he also had 4Crab Stretchers that he cranked down a long wall left them there for about 5 minutes then move them about 2ft left them for 5 ect!! You can't tell me this guy is right in the head!!!
