A Competitor's Zone Prescription
Matt Chan explains how to create a baseline Zone Diet plan for competitive athletes and how to intelligently deviate from it in this video shot at a CrossFit Competitor's Course at CrossFit Park City.
In Part 2, Chan explains how athletes might deviate from the baseline prescription to achieve specific goals, such as gaining weight.
But he warns, "There really is no healthy way to overfeed an organism long term."

Currently 151lbs approximately 10% bf training 2h strength 4 x week, 2 x conditioning weekly and 1-1.5hr cardiovascular daily Started the Zone diet at 17 blocks a day .when hitting a plateau in gaining weight whats the recommendation for the first approach , 2-3 x fat or increase daily blocks

Could anyone please tell me exactly what Kris said around the end of the 8th minute? The sound kind of got really messed up there. Would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Ok figured it out. He is adding 5 grams of fat per block for 30 blocks a day. 1 block= 7g*4cal/g + 9g*4cal/g + 8g*9cal/g (after adding 5g of fat to the 3g in a block)= 136cal/block. 30 blocks*136cal= 4080 cal total.

I need to gain some healthy weight and was wonder what the best approach would be to in crease overall blocks first and if so how many or to up the fat again first Week 1 19 blocks Week 2 19 blocks @ 2X fat - current

There is an assumption that there is about 1.5 grams of fat in each block of protein, so the total amount of fat needed per 1 block meal is 3 grams. Ya dig?

How is 6 blocks/meal + 5 fat*5/day equal 4000 calories? I keep doing the math and its about 1000 calories off.

base line preparation according to the formula is too LOW !! I don't think this will work...

i love how they crank up the volume and still don't' understand what the audience is saying.....subtitles would have worked better

25 blocks is approx. 2000 calories a 210 pound athlete working out 3 times a day...... pshhh yeaahhh right
