Thanks for putting this together Craig, its good to see how a competitive Crossfitter eats, as your right in this and your previous video that eating for performance is different from eating for aesthetics. Think it sets a great example for both men and women that calories and carbs aren't your enemy if used properly. Jas's transformation over the last 6-12 month has been amazing and is a great role model for many women! Still experimenting around with my diet/nutrition at the minute so these videos are great to see how people who are doing it well are doing it! I am joining my first Crossfit Box Crossfit 168 in Sydney Australia at the beginning of May and wanted to thank you as your videos helped me bite the bullet and compete in my first open and make the decision do it and sign up as think progress will be much better in a box than on my own.

John and Craig can you chime in on how this diet pertains to those trying to lose weight vs eating to perform. When I started I was 3 days a week at crossfit and taking in wayyyyyy to many carbs for my output. I tweaked my intake and have seen a drastic change. Last month I started 6 days a week at the box and added a little more carbs to compensate. Just wondered your thoughts on adjusting diet for performance, weight loss, and finding that happy middle where you can perform at the box, but also drop the weight.

Great work guys you really are inspirational for so many people. PS...wish my neighbour had a box. 👍💪

so what about carbs? 190g of protein and 80-90g of fat, but you didn't mention the daily carb intake?
@Revan897 жыл бұрын
Probably the remaining calories you have left are in carbs. 190gr of protein are 760 kal. 90gr of fat are 810 kal. So if he eats around 4000 kal a day, he is probably eating around 605gr of carbs (2430kal)
@aliceoconnor5017 жыл бұрын
Breaking it down: 760 cal from protein -> 190g x 4 720/810 from fat -> 80g x 9/ 90g x 9 1480/1570 total so: 2520 (lower cals 4000) for carbs = 2520/4 = 630g 2330 (4500 cals) for carbs = 2330/4 = 582.5g 4 cal per gram of protein 4 cal per gram of carb 9cal per gram of fat think that's right :/
@lucacodeluppi54127 жыл бұрын
that's a crazy number! Craig can you clarify about the carbs?
@julianunyabiz21937 жыл бұрын
Gurgui 88 crossfitters dont eat carbs. (its a joke btw so calm down)
@masterslayr6417 жыл бұрын
Luca Codeluppi if you think about it though Carbohydrates are your bodies main source of energy and if he is doing 3-4 heavy intense workouts that include compound strength training like your Oly lifts squats and presses he needs a lot of carbs to refuel and refeed his performance! Trust me I play college football and for the skill smaller players like me whose a wide receiver we have to eat 4500 calories a day with most of the being carbohydrates!

It's amazing how that tub of yogurt is 1 gram less than what humans used to consume per YEAR in sugar. Now we just guzzle sugar down and have no idea what it's doing to our body, that's just insane. Going from 8 grams of sugar a year, to most people consuming 80 grams on average a day shows just how out of control the food industry has become.
