I really don’t believe we can truly appreciate how mentally strong you have to be to compete or complete these games. Everyone of these guys is unbelievable and a credit to the skin they’re in.
@Mitchthisis3 жыл бұрын
I agree! It's so funny too how the commentators are completely brutal to the other competitors, I'm just sitting here wondering it must be like to be a family member of the other athletes listening to the announcers say "no one else here matters besides Matt and Noah" or "Mcleod is the most consistent person at missing the podium"
@TheGloriousUncertainty3 жыл бұрын
@@Mitchthisis and to be honest Michael I'd bet that both Matt and Noah are embarrassed at the commentators comments. There has to be comradary between participants and knowing that you're up against such athletes only adds to the personal mental strength required to get you home. I've seen both Matt and Noah encouraging all competitors home and that's a recognition of their understanding of competition and grim determination. Victory counts for nothing without competition and understanding of mental strength is only truly known when walking away from a sport that's put you on a pedestal.

Only 10% of people make it from the open to regionals. Think about that, you’re already the top 10% fittest people in the world, before you even compete to make it to the games. If you make it to the games, you’re a wrecking ball of grit, strength and pure will. Years of dedication and putting in the work when no one else cares. Respect is due to everyone of these athletes. If you’re dead last at the games, you should be beyond proud of yourself!
