You captured the Alps beautifully! In Salzburg I was hoping to catch a glimpse of the Augustiner... and then there you were! Having a beer out in the tree-covered courtyard is awesome.

Thanks 👍 it was great cycling in the Alps. Such a special place. And yeah the beer in the Augustiner was really good!

Hi Martin, we are happy you like the video! We followed the cyclepaths from Tarvisio in Italy to Kranjska Gora on the FVG1A (Italy) and D2 (Slovenia) paths. Check the website bikemap. There is some more info on it like maps and reviews. Enjoy the ride!

Love a bit of Amadeus & Bach - Saltzburg looks nice - too much froth ion their beers - but I don't drink alcohol anymore - I'm glad you resisted doing the cliched Sound of Music sketch. If you got a boom arm you could put the the camera on it and have both arms free for cycling. I prefer going uphill in drizzle rain, it keeps you cool as you get hot for old fat men like me. Many trains in the UK are bad for cyclists but not all, some routes cycles go free - not the rider just the bike. Today I went from my home just 4 miles around the canal towpath and back uphill to my home - Pendle Lancashire. I made coffee on my little firebox stove and came home, too hot today for me. This weekend i go 70 miles to the Lake District for camping and maybe swim in the sea or lakes.

We had a great time in Austria. Throughout the entire tour in the Alps I had the 'sound of music' soundtrack in my head :) there is no other way 😅 if you see the Apps you just need to sing that the hills are alive with music 😆 we will definitely look into the boom arm. Sounds interesting. Trains can be handy sometimes. In this situation we were really lost and only realised after a while that the only way to continue was to take a train! It definitely saved us some sweaty up hill cycling. You trip today sounds great. There is nothing better than a lake swim after a day of cycling in the sun. Keep up the cycling 💙

That's so cool! Serious question, how did you guys handle hygine? I'm planning to bike from Salzburg to Rome but don't feel like paying for an airbnb every night lol.

Sounds like you have a great trip ahead! Regarding the hygiene we did a number of things, depending on where we were and how warm it was. We would always swim in rivers and lakes when available. For example at the end of this video, the river where we cook the spaghetti carbonara, we dipped in there. It was so cold as the water was coming from the high mountains, but it was so refreshing. In Ceoatia we dipped into the Sea every day and there was no need for a shower agyerwards as our skin got used tp the salt water. We also have a 4 liter Ortlieb bladder that we fill up in rivers, restaurants etc. When it's warm outside we hang it on a tree and take a quick shower this way. Other times babywhipes have to do! When we cycled in America we were lucky enough to find a Warmshower host at least once a week but that was harder during the summer in europe! I hope that answers your question!

5:27 - not ALPINE, just ALPE. Alpe - Adria. No wonder if you're getting lost there, if you don't even know the name of this route ;)
