I think the biggest key to Crosstalk is to think of the obvious way things could be taken and deliberately think of another totally different way that wouldn't normally lead to the word. For instance, anchorman would immediately lean people to think of news, broadcasting, and the like. Giving a secret clue that is totally different that news or broadcasting may work well, given that many of the major clues a less experienced team might use may be in that category. So perhaps instead of giving a word related to this, you may want to give a secret word like "deckhand".

I backed on KickStarter. Looked like a fun time for our groups. This review confirms it... it might not be for everyone, but I think we'll like it more than Codenames.

I almost backed this on Kickstarter and then decided to wait to hear more reviews on it. Glad I did. This one is a pass for me & our game group.

This is the worst take on "Insider" and "Codenames". It overcomplicates both unnecessarily. It's clearly very fragile and it will bomb more times than not. If people had arguments about "Codenames" as a party game THIS is clearly even less so. Dan King must be the only one who thinks this is fun.

Did you watch the review? Tom likes it.

Tom's was a VERY lukewarm "like". He likes that it is "thinky". But he clearly said it's mostly going to disappoint as a "party" game. Far from what Dan says: "a mass market game" and the "next Codenames"!!!

Yeah, I have to side with you once again. This is a hard pass. Way too overcomplicated, especially for a party game.
