@@dojoog2921 Dont blame the car cause GM were idiots back then, the 9C1 was and still is better than the vic. My father is a retired EVOC training instructor for the LASD started instructing in the late 80's till 2000. He hated the vics and loved the 9c1.

Well, it's a fleet built on frame sedan with only 250HP plus a outdated slow 4 speed automatic transmission. It's tough as hell and will last longer than most modern cars today. It can take a beating.

Police here in Europe usually drive pretty good vehicles, but they have nothing against American V8s. For example, the most common patrol car where I live is either a Volvo XC70, Volvo V90 Cross Country or Volkswagen Tiguan. Not bad cars at all, but the Crown Vic...

In Australia our fleet consists of European cars such as VW Prolines (Tiguan and Passat), BMW (X5 (Vic), 5 (NSW)), Skoda Superb (WA), Kia Stinger (WA & QLD), Toyota (Camry [hybrids are rare except QLD and Victoria], RAV4, Kluger) and Holden (Colorado, Commodore), Ford (Ranger, Falcon [discontinued]). We have a diverse fleet but back then it was simply Holden Commodores and Ford Falcons

no exolorers are hitting 300+ hp and the 2011 p71 only had 250 the only vic that would be faster (and this is only top speed wise, in acceleration the explorer kills it) is the marauder and even then those barely hit 300 hp stock

It passed away because unfortunately for 2012, the Panther platform no longer can keep up with the ever-increasing CAFE restrictions, and so, it was discontinued. By 2011, it was already outdated, anyway, but it is sad to see the great legend disappear. I feel you.

9C1 Cpar Well my father was a driving instructor for the LASD EVOC Training facility in Pomona Ca from 1989 to 1999, he hated the vics and loved the 9C1 Caprice.

Rondoudou not as reliable yes but definitely not slower it's all down to the transmission where the vic only has three acceleration gears the Explorer has six

Crown vic has actually a 4 speed with 250hp from a 4.6L V8 engine.
