I am too. I just discovered this song a couple weeks ago and I cannot get enough of it. It's so touching and feel so much emotion from the story he so eloquently told. His vocals were on point, next level. The girls harmonizing with him during the chorus sound heavenly. Miss him and his good heart. Was a shock and so tradgic to know he was struggling so much internally,masking it with alcohol. 😔❤️

Jani wrote the most beautiful lyrics...I will always miss him...Thanks for sharing this video...:-). I was the song writer for Jani...back in the day...:-) Warrant refused to play these songs...:-( They wanted rock songs...:-(. The only regret I have, is not meeting Jani's sister, a long time ago when he asked me to. I was upset that he told her I was writing the music, he wasn't suppose to tell anyone. Jani helped me a lot after he changed his name to Jani...he saved my life...:-)

Why did Jani die? Before the other "members" of Warrant? He MADE Warrant. He wrote THE BEST SONGS, I wish "Let's Not Fight" tonight would've made it onto "Dog Eat Dog". "Let It Rain" did atleast, I grew up on DRFSR and Cherry Pie and honestly "Dog Eat Dog" trumps both of em... "Andy Warhol Was Right" and "April 2031" were Jani's best work. Why did this great SONGWRITER HAVE TO LEAVE US "Back Down To One" was a GREAT ALBUM. WHY? WHY?

Slippy Jones I can tell you a few things. First, I met Jani long before he changed his name, when I was a lead guitarists. Back then, young girls were the last thing guys wanted in the band. I decided to hand pick and have others play my songs. Think you know who wrote Stairway to Heaven...guess again. I wrote the music and Plant agreed to do it...:-) The last set of songs I gave Jani, for the price...that he promise to never stay in a place with the word INN in the name, was just about all the songs on Dog eats Dog album. If you listen to it, you can just about figure out who else I wrote music for, and Jani came up with the lyrics for April 2031, using our conversation...which was in 1980....it took him and the band a while to learn my music and to write lyrics. Jani and I both designed the album cover the same night, in 1980....it is a tattoo of the Black Snake on the arm of the devil, a volcano, the Missouri River, and sunshine for me, (my Native American name). KZbin prolific the rapper a tribe called red the black snake...and you will understand. Jani always kept his word...Warrent found out I was writing the music for Jani when I got out of high school...sometime prior to 1979. You see, Jani wanted to play with warrant...and I had to meet the band and give approval. You are right, Jani could have gone solo, but he wanted a band. I had hoped, when I was ready to go public, that Jani and I could have performed together...:-(. Now do you see, this is why I know Jani was murdered...:-( Oh, that song, which was never released, lyrics about serial killers...well, I wrote that too and had Jani sit on the song, until I said so. I never knew he added lyrics to it, but I made him re-do the lead guitar part six times...until it was what I wanted. Any lead would have worked...but, I wanted how I wrote it...:-). Glad you loved Jani ...:-)

I read Bobbi Brown's autobiography. She said he was an amazing person until he started to see the "writing on the wall", due to an Alice in Chains poster in favor of Warrant's... Kind of ironic that I'm responding to you... Weird how things work... Anyway he became a dark person after that... I can understand it... Songwriters are the most sensitive people on the planet. Especially after getting the red carpet treatment for 4 years (pre-signing), and the next time you look, you're nothing??? The human brain isn't equipped with that... To rise and fall so fast...

Sorry just saw this. Yes, you're right. There is a reason why I like Jani's songwriting more than others. "Mr. Rainmaker" is still one of my favorite songs ever written. As well as "Let It Rain". "Let's Not Fight" still get stuck in my head, even though the only version I've heard was from this... I've imagined it in my head so much, that I have a vision in my head that I can't shake off...
