respectfully, its that grill opening size. Corvettes are in the same boat--if you get all the air out of the system, they run fine on the highway but at slower speeds, boy you want that electric fan. Back in the day, it was never uncommon to see a high compression big block car sitting on the side of traffic with its hood in the air on the way to the beach....

Cars and Engines on the Daytona the wing is function. and the front is also fictional at high speeds on the banking turns of the Daytona race track. which is why it's named so.

It got banned from nascar, not just for looks.
@cyan15183 жыл бұрын
It generates enough downforce (can't remember the exact amount) that they had to put braces in the trunk to keep the quarter panels from crumpling under the pressure
@albertgaspar6273 жыл бұрын
It does, and there were stories about how it was picked to be just high enough to clear the trunk lid. Just like how the scoops on the front fenders were either to clear the front tires when NASCAR versions were lowered...or to get air out of the fenders at 200 mph. A lot of stories about why parts got onto these cars, since Ma Mopar spent time getting it to work and didn't want to get ripped off by everyone else (this was the time when testing in an aero tunnel was becoming accepted).

yeah everywhere shoves Mopar down your throats but look through catalogues there's not a big selection of Mopar in physical catalogues, I drive a dodge and can't find parts hell can't even find half decent or reliable online information. it seems nobody drives an a tenth as much as everyone seems to want to make folk think. but I'm.waiting on some.motor trend ford content, that probably wolnt happen, a Buddy's throwing a 351c in a 67notchback mustang and that's the most ford action I get to see! but I will say motor trend does their content better then jeep magazines do and there's no KZbin jeep stuff near this level, so I'll take what I can get I suppose

Saya 1 1960's and 1970's Ford's were unreliable, and unimpressive. Bad geometry all the way around. Their engines can't handle much power, and it's hard to extract more power out of them.

@Saya-fs1jo8 жыл бұрын
+NovaMan 350 which engines are you speaking of? the 302 may not have been anything special, but 352clevelands were wonderful, the 351w pretty proven and the 351m sought after as well, the 338series blocks in general were quite fair, anything canted valve could compete stock to stock with 20less displacement and match them, the 270 and 300i6 blocks were steadfast and near legendarily reliable. the i6s were a whole their above the Mopar slants, and ford always had a penchant for a strong torque curve over top end HP numbers that Chevrolet and Mopar preferred, a 454, or a 502 will outperform a ford 460 at the drag strip but if ya want a 20year engine for a service truck ford had a big of an advantage. don't get me wrong I'm not saying everything else is crap, been around a couple 350s that were terrible and my father runs a 327sbc and I'd does fair but I don't care for the balls to the wall rpm solution Chevy tends to like, and its nearly the same on my daily driver 318la Mopar, but given the choice I'll take ford. just keep Chevy and AMC 305s far away from me! AMC is pretty hit or mid on pretty good to pretty terrible. hard to argue points without a personal preference driving the topic. and I'll pas on ford 260s 302s Chevy 305s most AMC v8s etc but of the brands ford has more motors I'd like to own and fewer engines I'd rather pass on, so take my word with a grain of salt but that's my choice and your choice is yours

I've been a huge fan of Motortrend for SO long and here is just some feedback (i am subscribed to MTOD btw). This show has a LOT of potential, I love the atmosphere, the cars, the adventure, the break downs and what not, hell even the history and Dodge plugs are fine, but the people need to change, this show would bloom if the people would change to a couple grizzled car veterans that are well known in the community, maybe even Ex-NHRA drivers. Just liven it up with the prestige the show already sounds and looks like it has. The music choice is great but please turn it down a little bit, we enjoy the roar of a Mopar over loud music. Just the input of a long time fan.

11:00 who doesn't carry spare fuses? Hell, who doesn't have a basic tool-&-repair kit in their car/ truck? -Wrench set -Screwdriver set -Basic socket set -Pliers -Jack -Jumper cables -Tire pump -Fuses & relays -Duct tape -Electrical tape -1qt oil -1qt tranny fluid -1pt brake fliud -Small jug water May seem like a big list, but know that I drive a mid-90s Ranger standard cab and manage to stash all that out of sight (standard cab Ranger has virtually NO room, besides what meager space exists behind and under the seat). If I can fit all that in my Ranger you can easily find a spot in your car's trunk. Depending on trunk configuration, you could even find a spot where it'll stay unmovable and out of sight.
