Aside from the Des Moines, none of the ships really play to their advantage. All a Zao has to do is run away and fire spam the DM when the Hindenburg and Moskva should be a sniping match.

Yorck isn't that bad. It's one of the weaker german cruisers, but it is ok. In my opinion that is the ranking of german cruisers: Hindenburg Hermelin (it´s the BB at tier 1 lol) Admiral Hipper Königsberg Roon Nürnberg Yorck Karlsruhe Dresden Kolberg So don't worry, it just gets better :)

Yeah, Hermelins nerf ruins it because her HE is kinda bad... I really enjoyed playing the Hipper. She has good range and dispersion, her AA is really strong with the C hull and her AP shells rape cruisers if they show broadside. One time I did hit an Amagi for 14k dmg with one salvo at about 15 km (two citadels lol). She also has strong Close combat Torpedos. Her weakness is that she gets penetrated from almost every angle...
