These cafes make me want to find a local high tea sort of place to envision for my own rêves de belle époque. These are places I’d probably otherwise avoid if not for the long lines and over-hype (not that I’m ABOVE touristy hypes…are we not all tourists, after all? Do we not all want to see the most quintessential places?), as well as high prices. But this video shows me to pay attention to the eateries may be worth it. History and nourishment (of sorts)? Sign me up.

So true. Hard to avoid the tourist hotspots when you’re an actual tourist, even if you know you’re falling for the overpriced hype 😆 But if there’s cake at the end who can complain 😁🥮

The building and decor is beautiful and there’s a lovely buzz inside, and we loved the traditional Hungarian music. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in Budapest 👍

What lovely cafes, so opulent and histioric. One of the things I enjoy doing the most when we travel is to stop at local cafes ranther than the chains such as Starbucks. These three would be ideal and althought the New York Cafe was rather expensive, I woul still enjoy the history of the place. Cafe Gerneaud looks like it woudl be my favorite, I love my chocolate for sure. We will be in Budapest this December and I will find a way to get to all three of these Cafes. See now that’s a problem for me 😫. I have a voracious sweet tooth 🙄. I’ve been accused of consuming gelato three times a day on our month long holiday throughout Italy. Luckily we used our own two feet to get around along with public transport so the “damage” was minimal. 👍🏻. Going to Budapest, I’m afraid, would test my resolve and judging by your visit, I’m afraid it would be hopeless 🧐
