After escaping to the coast of BC during the historic heatwave, I made my way towards Prince George to visit my aunt and uncle. My route followed the Yellowhead Highway through snowcapped mountains and along rushing rivers, all while enduring some of the hottest temperatures of the year.

I know this highway is legit dangerous for women and people driving at night but, damn this highway is beautiful as heck! I’m from Vancouver born and raised and I’ve actually never driven that highway or been up to any of the Prince’s. I know lots of people told me there’s something sus lurking in those woods or on that road late at night. Did you ever feel concerned driving it? I know there’s a lot of men that have went missing out on that highway too. Once you’re found it’s hard to hide on the road out there.

Yeah I've heard about some disappearances up there but I thought that was a long time ago? I felt completely safe everywhere I went in northern BC, and yeah it's one of the most beautiful regions in the world. I would happily go back to explore further.

I live in LA. The idea of rural Canada being suspicious is humorous.

@@davissae The reason why B.C’s wilderness and the north is so sketchy is due to how mental health and specifically the criminally insane are treated. They get shipped off to small towns and dumped there and most of the time the police (federally RCMP and local municipality police) can’t keep enough tabs on the amounts of people getting released daily. I’m talking the mentally insane people who are straight up deranged get let out and dumped out there so in turn these people go commit crimes and murder people and no one really bats and eye. It’s a known issue if your from here but if your visiting and don’t stay too long in weird small town bars where these psychos wait for victims your pretty fine. Also helps if your not indigenous as most of the people found murdered and dead are of that specific group. The remaining people that go missing are due to wild animal encounters. Lots of people aren’t aware of how many predators are out in b.c like bears wolves mountain lions cougars and more.

@@benbrazyoutube It’s a lot safer now unless you’re a woman to be honest. If you’re a man you’ll have no problems up there. Lots of criminally insane people get released out here so that’s the major issue to worry about. We’ve had histories of serial killers going unnoticed deep in the forests. If you know what you’re doing and you don’t interact with trouble makers no one’s gonna bother you but the one thing to keep in mind about small towns and cities in B.C like Prince George is don’t share any personal info around the bars. Lots of poor desperate criminals and junkies out there looking at tourists with dollar signs. Overall it’s a safe place but just picture the psychos of l.an out in the boonies within the forests and bam that’s the issue.
