Crunchers Christmas 2022 : Mercedes R230 SL500 Battery Control Module (BCM)

I'm away today at the British Vintage Wireless Society swap-meet and auction at Royal Wooton Bassett. Hopefully I will come away with lots of goodies to show you.
Most of this footage was shot in the summer this year. It's a common thing for these modules to go up in flames destroying the car. Luckily we caught this one just in time.

I'm quite impressed at your video and work performed. I'm in the states and also believe i'm in need of this repair as well. It's a HUGE issue and could be a good revenue producer for you should you want to explore that, especially now that you've researched the issue and parts required. I'm interested to see if you'd be up to taking a crack at repairing mine, thanks.

I too would like to know the components used please especially the 3x ceramic capacitors? as mine is apart and I need to replace over winter. Thanks for your great video too

No sorry. As far as I know there is no schematic

My BCM just started burning up after I put the boot into service position. Now I'm searching around, wondering what to do haha

It's probably the capacitors failing.

Thanks for your reply. I will try look at bypassing the BCM at the relay and permanently disconnecting the front battery.@@Radiocruncher
