I think its important to highlight that the sword-break he did here was a product of prior training. His archery teacher had a martial arts friend who would train him too and taught him how to retaliate as a form of defense when you can't dodge. His body reacted accordingly here. You can even see his eyes closed because he flinched when it happened and flashed back because his muscle memory reacted without him. Its established but that's when it really drove home to me that his parents (and some of their friends) have been preparing him for this in every way they could without looking too suspicious.

No one told him he could, and the only thing that even alludes to him being able to shape magic is when elma said "imagine a ball of fire flying towards your target. Acting like him suddenly having to imagine his bow firing in his mind is "out of his element" is weird. He could only be doing the motions to aim, or just out of habit.

On the light novel is explain that the goddess can grants a blessing to her favored side (before a battles) that gives them twice their normal ability and at the same time said blessing debuffs the opposing side halffing their normal strength. However Makoto does not have any blessing from the Goddess at all, this two just manage to make him upset because they refuse to listen to him when he was explaining he has nothing to do with the goddess. And He did removed all his rings.

What really gets me is their perspective in this fight. They thought they rid him of any power he could have, and would be easy pickings. Then, when they hear the snap of metal as he slides the ring off after breaking the connecting chain, it hits them like a truck. The guy who is meant to be powerless, is now suddenly radiating mana equal to a God (as I think this is after his whole "detach consciousness" training thing outed his reserves as being multiple Goddesses worth). And then, he keeps popping rings off, and his mana just keeps climbing more and more. It's like a modern day soldier nailing a guy with a bullet to his shoulder; then suddenly Cthulhu springs out his body to slap the soldier out of reality.

Makoto kept trying to tell them that he didn't want to fight and wanted nothing to do with the Goddess but they refused to listen. They soon realized that they messed with the wrong person however when he started to remove his rings that suppressed his mana, something that a person wouldn't normally do on a battlefield which was eventually followed by him launching an attack so big that it created a lake.

This was cut from the anime, but his training is not quite basic. When it comes to close combat he was trained minimum in order to survive an actual fight. When it comes to the bow he actually has quite strong training, in Japan his teacher even made him techniques and combat style that were originally used for battles. The fight with Sophia was supposed to also show flashbacks from his childhood when he started training with the bow and also a bit of close combat. Its very unfortunate that this was cut from the anime.

Honestly, this is an example of what magic is meant to be at its peak. Spells are just mnemonic keys used to make mana flow in preset ways. I know some stories where practicing magic itself is compared to a coding language. When one truly masters magic, spells are nothing more than crutches. A true master of magic is able to mold mana like clay, with nothing more than their will and intentions. And sure, his power helps, but just pumping power into a brid wouldn’t let someone split the spell like that, or change its attributes on the fly.

More like he was born from parents of the Isekai world (lets call it Goddess World) who fled from the Goddess World to Earth. Unlike his parents whose magic was strong enough to sustain their bodies, as a child his wasn't matured enough to survive in the more hostile magic-less environment in our world, forcing all of his natural magic into dormancy as it put all of it's effort into sustaining his weak, ailing body. Between his parents efforts, what pitiful magic they could muster in a world without it and modern technology combined with just being plain lucky as hell he survived long enough and as he aged his Goddess World body managed to adapt to the strain of our world without being able to use the same magic his parents had since his natural powers were cut off. The result was a physical aptitude that matches Earth citizens while massively multiplying his container for magic that comes from his Goddess World body due to how hard his body had to fight to survive from childhood. That's why he's so immensely powerful compared to the other two Isekai Heroes who are just plain Earth inhabitants, he's literally built different. They have the advantage of coming from the hostile world to a free world, making them dozens of times stronger than a Goddess World inhabitant due to having a naturally more powerful body, but not much else without the *blessing* helping them. He though has all the natural magical aptitude from the Goddess World multiplied by the same amount, a magical container that has been forcibly expanded to match, the same kind of physical aptitude that the Earth Heroes have, the natural capacity to increase his physical abilities by magic born from how his body fought to survive and finally the unique magic that Tsukuyomi gave him to make up for the Goddess screwing him over. Like I said; built different.

To add, even among mortals Makoto is a strange variable. They'll never get into it in the anime but Makoto is comparable to individuals like Alexandre the great. First, he casted his original Talent side to get a new talent. We don't know what is old talent was, but his new talent is his enhanced concentration that allows him to manifest his consciousness in another location. In the Goddess' world it was able to shine since every time he used it he basically died and was reborn. That basically kept multiplying his capacity. He's literally stronger in magic than most gods now. But he won't win against them, specifically the goddess, because he lacks experience. But another issue with Makoto is that he's capable of creation magic (Which I think is probably his original Talent), this is something that even some gods are jealous of. There was only 1 god that was capable of creation magic. So basically this tells us that Makoto is a literal god candidate. So at the moment as he is right now in the anime. He can probably 1 shot the goddess if he hits her.

I feel this is what makes him dangerous. He's a level 1 blank slate, and I mean this as in because he's level 1, he didn't get skills like other adventurers on the Guild, but he's able to create his own

I am not so sure about this,from what i gathered reading the novel, Makoto is lvl 1 in this parralel world, but because he trained on earth (which puts a weight on all magic and supernatural abilities) its like training with weights, once he was brought to that world, no weights holded him down, so his power just burst out, on top of that the moon god gave him his blessing, making him even more powerful and giving him the "Kai" ability

I can understand why they're leaving them out for the moment. They're not exactly important to the plot currently. Hibiki will be somewhat important soon, and we'll definitely get flashbacks with her part in the war. We'll for sure get Tomoki in the beginning of season 2 but he'll vanish until season 3-4.

@@emperorpalpatine2957 actually they are, at this point in the novel (chapter 70 or so) they already show their relationship with their current kingdom and their believes from one another, also they show how Hibiki gets involve in the world of politics and how the other hero (Tomoki I think) starts developing psychopath tendencies and created a harem They also show how everything kingdom is connected through an underground’s crime syndicate and what the kingdom think of one another
