I really love the way they ended the season, with the sisters realizing it's not really a fight and also the twist with Miku's confession, being able to accept and return that love, it was for sure an amazing ending, really wholesome

When ichika said about her being the girl he met in the past I knew there was more to it, and when she had her eyes almost with no light, she felt guilty of all the lies and just wants to be accepted by Fuutarou as a lover.

And even deeper spoiler When Yotsuba and Fuutarou met as kids. The last day at kyoto Fuutarou tried to find Yotsuba but ran into Ichika instead. As all girls looked identical he never figured out. And Ichika wanting to get in between Yotsuba, played along and dragged Fuutarou to play a card game. Yotsuba saw it in a corner and gasped but did not have the courage to step up and correct them so that last day Fuutarou spent it with Ichika acting like Yotsuba.

I feel really bad since Ichika was one of the few quints that Fuutarou met in the past and she always lets her chances of being with Fuutarou go since she wanted to be the selfless sister. She always gave up her chances for miku in season 1 and make sure miku can be with Fuutarou close, even though she knows she loved him ever since she was a kid(She knew Fuutarou was the kid she met in the past after seeing him in the blonde wig) and struggled. Ichika struggling to be the supporting sister for her sister being with the guy miku likes, while she also wanted to have to guy she likes for herself, each time she sacrifices the chances and possibilities with Fuutarou it made her realize how much she does love Fuutarou too.

This is what I respect about the author, is that the fact that even if they twist a character, they know how to make it work, and ultimately help out those understandings. Yes he uses the misunderstanding card, but he didn't play it in a way where most romance anime authors would, which is what I admire so much about Miku and Ichika hugging each other, which holds *extreme* amounts of significance and a turning point for the better.
