⁠​⁠@@SuperMovieWiznah. to begin with, the story has no revenge factor to it, only MC being an absolute coward and not wanting to die by guillotine again. also despite MC being somewhat similar to the MC of “reincarnated as a villainess”, that similitude is limited just to the brains’ dept. unlike katarina whose “breakout personality” comes from her sensibilities from our modern era, Mia’s (this MC) comes from a space of genuine sympathy and suffering, after spending something off 2 or 3 years in a basement dungeon, sleeping on cold stone floor, wearing rags, luckily having somebody come and wipe the grime and filth of her body once in a while, and feeding on tasteless gruel and moldy bread.

I will always enjoy a good villainess time rewind/isekai. They're the genre I adore the most. I especially love the ones where the villainess has experienced the bad end and just nopes the hell out. I'll be awaiting this one eagerly.

I must say, I am loving this trend of "villainess" isekai anime. Hamefura, Most Heretical Last Boss Hero has been pretty good so far and now this. It looks promising and I can't wait to see it in a couple months.

This isn't actually an isekai. It's from a different sub-genre that's become popular recently: Upon your death, you inexplicably go back in time (which may or may not be explained later) and have a second chance to fix everything that went wrong the first time, um, sub-genre. It's not always just a second chance either, as there's one where it takes 7 lives to get it right, one that takes well over 40 tries, and even one that took exactly 100 tries! She's also not a true villainess, as her only crime in her first life was to be a lazy, apathetic princess while the Empire crumbled around her.

The source material for this is actually very good but maybe not the easiest to work with for a director. A lot will depend on the voice acting/directing and on whether they keep the narrator as it was in the books. Looking forward to the mushrooms

I believe Mia isn’t actually a selfish person, but becomes selfish because of her environment in the past timeline. But this time it’s different, she has people she cares about, and friends that cares about her, it’ll take some time but I believe she’ll eventually drop the selfish characteristics.

@@tarvik8742I guess not "isekai" exactly but it's the same tired premise over and over again. - You didn't achieve what you were supposed to in life. - You die, and now you're alive again but you're a child - Takes place in either a half-baked Middle Earth or shallow Victorian France setting - Uninteresying MC lives in the absolute lap of luxury (Yeah, she was royalty before she time traveled back to childhood, but wealth and privilege is like the only lens these type of anime can view the MC through) - No story seems to be present, at least from this trailer. It's not isekai as in a completely new world, but it falls into the same tropes / crutches.
