You did excellent job with the video, both the cuts / camera focus and your explanation were very effective and useful.

Excellent play-through! This gives me a much better understanding of how the game plays out compared to just reviews. Seems like a game I will enjoy. I really appreciate this type of video and the time/effort it takes to produce.

I think someone on the forum confirms that you cannot use orbital sniper to "kill" an enemy unit in the HQ, as the intention of the HQ is to provide a "safe zone". I do think events can still remove units from HQ though.

It's a very good video. Thanks so much! At time 59:05 you could not have used the card AIR SUPPORT in the battle because the terrain was of a different type in the board.

So are you card drafting when you add those cards to your hand or do you discard the terrain cards back into the terrain piles after using them. Where do you discard them into your discard pile

I haven't played this game in 4.5 years so unfortunately I don't remember enough about it to answer your question.

If you pick "draw cards" as one of the three actions, you can take two cards and keep one. The 2nd one is reshuffled in the terrain deck. If you later use that terrain card, it will we placed in the discard pile of your own deck. Not the terrain card deck. So a card that you picked up will be reshuffled in your deck over and over.

First, it is a good video if you need to learnt he rules, but... try to put more effort into putting the units on the right spot, like... if you are attacking, dont stack your units onto the defender side, and the defender on attacker side of the battle board. i know this properly is being very demanding , but im picky bout stuff like that :) else keep up the good work.

I honestly hadn't noticed the markings for offense and defense until after I'd published this video and someone pointed it out! Never had a problem remembering who was the attacker when playing so it didn't feel super necessary but it's nice to have it printed there.

Well, i guess that when you play the game, all players would know who control what, so might just be me that is weird that way :) but i like the video, and i found out that we played the pilgrims totaly wrong, we ended up giving me points when scoring for the crystals in the pool, and therefor giving me a landslide of a victory, this makes more sense and prob would make the pilgrims more fun to play. :)

You aren't wrong, this one in particular scrambled my brain up on a couple occations. I blame this on why the actual strategies taken weren't that impressive, I'm just happy I made it through to the end :P

I bought the game and really like it. All four races play very different from one another. I like that you can play it with 2 to 4 people depending on how many friends can come over. You can use the different faction skill cards to try new strategies. The terrain tactics cards really make a big impact on battles. Regroup allows you to take a miniature from adjacent regions and put them on the battle board. If used right you can sometimes add 2 or 3 soldiers. Air support brings one more from reserve. This can completely shift the balance of force.

was the machine player getting their 4th action due to discarding a card with additional processors?

At 13:45, aren't the battles resolved in order, so if you resolved battle 2 first, it would then no longer be a battle region, so you COULD play that card in battle region 3? Not picking holes, just using this video to help me understand how to play and see if I got something wrong :)

18:30 - Attacking units should be placed on the left of the battleboard, defenders on the right.

I watched till the end of the video, and I was really hoping to finally see a Cry Havoc video where the Machine could win. I wonder what the machines could have done differently to win? It's kind of ridiculous that despite murdering entire armies near the end of the game (they had like almost unstoppable advance near the last couple turns), the machines still become dead last in the end! I wonder if the expansion would fix this issue....

I am not in any way a professional Machine player, but here is my though.. Perhaps to enable scoring at least once is a way to win the game?
@F2000-q2z
@F2000-q2z 4 жыл бұрын
The machines can't easily score points for regions like the humans or crystals like the pilgrims. The only way to gather points is to fight. Prisoners score points, attrition kills score points. Battle regions get one crystal added. Build factories to add units right on the frontline instead of in the base and improve your odds with the shredder drone kills. It might also be possible to alpha strike a rich pilgrim region by sniping all their units with the drones and satellites before you walk in.

Build 3 drones and use them to kill a lot of enemies, even in battle zone! Yesterday machine literally destroy other factions... Frustrated haha

Why ever use attrition with trogs?
@JonGetsGames
@JonGetsGames 8 жыл бұрын
Because it kills off your opponents pieces so you don't have to deal with them with your actual non-trog figures.

You score 1 point for every prisoner at the end of each turn, so that is a good benefit for taking Troggs captive.

I think he meant if in a 3 player, and you are taking the Trogg's turn, why would you have them capture someone?
@NightSpook
@NightSpook 7 жыл бұрын
Even though the Trogs (3Players) don't score points for prisoners, you do thin out the army of the opponent. That player still has to pay 2 VP's to get the prisoner back in his/her reserve. So in order to get the unit back on the map's location, the player has to: 1. pay 2 VP's 2. use a recruit action + card 3. use movement action + card. But ofcourse it's up to the player controlling the Trogs at that moment :) Attrition might be a better option in certain situations.
