Just your friendly listener who's a doctor here.👩🏻‍⚕️ If you snore yourself awake, that is a pretty significant sign of sleep apnea. Even just regular snoring indicates something going on. Recommend seeing a sleep specialist and/or an ENT.

Yep my husband snored bad & got tested & had severe apnea…has a c-pap machine now. He’s not overweight either. It’s a home test that’s easy. Looks like a watch with a pulse ox on your finger. Easy test 👍

@@Zinnias2go Exactly. There's such a stigma that sleep apnea is an affliction of being overweight, but there are so many factors. The anatomy of your respirarory system, signals and reflexes from your brain, location and stability of your jaw, etc all contributes to having sleep apnea.

I moved into my current place in November 2020. I used my dryer as a closet until I finally put my clothes away in December 2021. Coincidentally, my clothes have not been put away since December 2021. Ain’t not shame in my game 😎

Hey Colleen/Erik. I am a Respiratory Therapist in Wisconsin and Illinois. Erik's snoring does sound like he's obstucting. This may or may not be the result of OSA (Obstructive sleep apnea) and he actually may need a CPAP device. It is difficult to tell just by his snoring but please have him make an appointment with his primary care physician especially if he is waking himself and you up. OSA can also lead to excessive tiredness during the day (although that's probably difficult to determine when you have 2 brand new babies). There is a questionnaire online called the STOPBANG which can calculate your likeliness of having OSA. A sleep study usually (at least where I'm from) consists of monitoring brain waves, chest rise, oxygen saturations during the night and more. Untreated OSA can result in a variety of scary things ranging from high blood pressure to a stroke. Please please please have him get this checked. It could be nothing but it's always better to be on the side of caution in my opinion. Thanks!!! Love you guys so much.

I’m a sleep technician and I do studies on people for sleep apnea. Waking yourself up snoring could actually be you having apnea or stopping breathing. It might not be serious but it could be sleep apnea. You have to have a sleep study to know for sure!

Yeah my husband does this too. I wake him up sometimes because he stops breathing (at least I think he does) and I'll start counting and after 5 seconds I'll nudge his awake so he doesn't stop breathing in his sleep. He snores really loud every night lol so bad that I had to buy some ear buds that block out noise and I sleep with meditation music on. I told him he needs to have a sleep study done but he doesn't even think that he snores. I guess I'm going to have to record him like Colleen did so he can see how bad it is. But I'm pretty sure that I know why he has it and I told him that we as a family need to start eating healthier but he doesn't like very many vegetables 🤔 😕 The rest of us do so maybe he'll try some healthier foods that I cook and maybe he'll like them 🤔 idk 😏

@@meganmichelllllle Hi Im a psych major, it's not urgent but it should def. be dealt with, if you go to the doctor's they will do a sleep study, and if you do they give you a C-pap machine that you wear at night; most people with sleep apnea love it because they can finally sleep through the night- because with sleep apnea your airways get cut off it can really affect sleep, cause irritability, insomnia ect... so finally having this machine is life saving to some!

I love how ya are. I hate putting laundry away I make a big pile on two chairs in my room. Today I finally put them away. I have a 5 year old 3 year old and 1 year old so it’s not easy to put it away I like to hang them up but if they are sleeping I don’t go in the boys room because baby will definitely wake up. My daughter helps me put her clothes away. But laundry is a struggle.

Erik is probably more tired if he has sleep apnea. After my sleep study and I started using C-PAP I felt much more rested and alert during the day. With fewer hours to sleep while caring for your babies - quality sleep is important. Love you guys. Thanks for the laughs ❤️

I've been in the resturant business most of my life and I can say I have NEVER felt inconvenienced to get the check for any of my tables. It really helps me feel less of an annoyance when a table asks for the check instead of me coming to the table too many times asking if anyone needs anything else.

I love how kindhearted you are Colleen! As an experienced server, a majority of the restaurants that I’ve worked at made it a standard to be “check ready” meaning you print out a new and updated version of the bill after every order to keep with you so that you’re already ready whenever the customer is! Don’t feel bad, it’s a part of our job and Erik is right, if you are ready for your check, it’s absolutely the best thing to ask us because the serving industry is really about being able to turn and burn tables. The more tables in, the more money (potentially) we could be making!
