I just came across your channel. Thanks for the great videos on the Nano; they're helpful considering the downside of the Ledger products, which is their customer support. So far I haven't been able to complete exchanges (with Wyre in the US); 100% of attempted swaps are timing out with "exchange rate expired" error, and of course there is no response from Ledger Support. Have any others been encountering this error, and if so could you do a video on how to resolve it? Thanks.

I’ve been trying to figure this out and keep wondering why it’s such a struggle to understand it all. Having watched this I understand now - this is a super complex and convoluted way of funding, trading crypto! Also some of those fees are crazy - by the time you trade you negate most of your gains? I get the security feature but Ledger needs to make this all a lot easier for people to do basic crypto functions.

It’s just a option, if you want lower fees you can buy directly on any exchange like Binance or Coinbase and then transfer the crypto to your ledger.

That doesn't effect the security of the wallet. The personal information of the users is a different story. Unlikely to happen again but private keys are on the device so noone can access crypto by breaching ledgers database.

Yes you can transfer from Coinbase to Coinbase Pro with no fees at all. After that you can take advantage of the lower fees on Coinbase Pro.

It just doesn't seem advisable to trade with a wallet. So expensive. Unless you're making a huge purchase and expecting large returns to overcome the fees and still make a profit. This is what really sucks about not being on an exchange. It's so convent and you might pay a small fee to buy one crypto, but you can swap between coins, or DCA and pay no fees.

I would wait on this one it just seems like a pain the reason I wanted to go this route was because I figured it would be an instant transfer to the wallet but just like any exchange it's a 5 business day wait period.... I can send eth or any other alt just from an exchange with minimal fees if any especially from gemini. now if you want to avoid the transfer process I could see this being cool but it just seems more trouble than it's worth.

Well whenever ledger ships, it is shipped through DHL and it is specified signature on delivery. That’s just a precaution to make sure that it doesn’t get lost. If you’re not home when the delivery arrives it will go back to your local post office. And in order to pick it up from your post office, yes a signature with ID is required. That way they know it’s you and not someone else. They’re actually using the ID to verify the delivery address. So the post office really doesn’t care who you are they just wanna make sure you live at the intended address. That is standard for international shipping with DHL. In fact I believe that’s the way it works with any type of service that requires a signature upon delivery. Even USPS does that. FedEx does the same thing if you’re not home when they tried to deliver something that’s signature required. I have to go to my local FedEx and show my ID in order to get the item. I know it feels like some sort of grand conspiracy to verify your ID as a Crypto holder, but it’s not.

Kind of hard to do that with legal force. Showing the banker your ledger live balance on your phone won't cut it. You should file crypto taxes and show the bank your returns.

When I open Ledger Live in my computer it says "Get Started", but when I come to the unlock screen the Ledger Nano says Bitcoin is Ready, but the Ledger Live will not unlock. So I am stuck here. Yes I have had similar problems using the third party software within ledger live. You might want to stick with centralized exchanges like Coinbase or Gemini for trading. You can transfer back to your Ledger wallet after you make your trades.
