I appreciate you so much for helping to make talking about mensural cycles the norm. Periods have always been such a taboo topic. Great video, as always! x

Thanks Crystal! Could you do a video about what's normal for your menstrual cycle post-partum? This is something that's never talked about and I was super-confused about what to expect after my pregnancy.

Yes, thats a great idea! I will add it to my list! Thank you for the suggestion.

Hey Crystal! Could you please do a video on PCOS
@efratp38003 жыл бұрын
As always, such a great informative video. I've learned so much from your videos, thank you Crystal. I'd like to ask, what are the medical issues that heavy flows indicate? I've seen many genealogists and none of them suggested anything about my heavy flows. It's either "it's heavy because you're low on iron and you're low on iron because it's heavy", or that that's how it is and deal with it. 🤷
@CrystalKennings3 жыл бұрын
That’s a great question! Low iron can cause heavy periods (rude!), but other health conditions that can cause them would be hormone issues (like high estrogen levels), thyroid issues, fibroids or polyps, adenomyosis, bleeding disorders, copper IUD… lots of causes! That’s why further investigation is important. Maybe for you it was low iron and your doctors saw that in your blood work but it’s never a bad idea to ask for more testing if you suspect it’s something else!

Hey Crystal! Thank you so much for this video ❤ I've been off the pill for 4 months now and everything seemed normal until this cycle. Is it normal to have your ovulation delayed or even to have an annovulatory cycle after taking the covid vaccine in the follicular phase?
@CrystalKennings3 жыл бұрын
I have heard a lot of people experience something similar to this and while I cant say if its normal or not (more research has to be done!) it seems to be a side effect.

Hi Crystal! Thanks for the video! My menstrual cycle is about 25-26 days… do you think it’s normal? They’re pretty regular, but I just think that they’re kinda too often… is there any natural ways to prolongue the cycle?
@CrystalKennings3 жыл бұрын
Im assuming you are not on birth control? If so a normal cycle is 25-35 days long so it sounds normal to me especially if it’s regular. You may just ovulate early in your cycle which is why it seems short.. that’s okay! Your body has its own rhythm. However you may possibly be experiencing a short luteal phase (second half of your cycle) but it’s hard to know without tracking your cycle. So what you can think about doing is tracking your daily rising body temperature with a basal body thermometer. This will help you see the distinct phase of your cycle because after ovulation your temperature should rise at least 0.3-1 degree and stay high the entire luteal phase. Tracking your temp. will help you understand the length of your follicular phase and luteal phase which will help you see how long they are. This is part of the sympto thermal fertility awareness method of cycle tracking if you want to learn more about it you can look it up (you don’t have to use it for birth control purposes). This will also help you understand why the length of your cycle is on the short side and maybe offer you ideas of why… then you can support your body from there!

is pmdd a sign of an underlying issue?
@CrystalKennings3 жыл бұрын
No, it is caused from a sensitivity to hormone fluctuations so it's in itself a root issue.. if that makes sense.

Well I don’t have a cycle at all. Took the pill when I was 17 for a few months and after that I didn’t get my period for months. Then I got it for like two times again and now I haven’t gotten it for a year at all. I kinda ignored this problem for a long while but now I really feel the urge to figure it out. Also have been at my gyencologist and made a hormonal test but she didn’t really care at all and I don’t get any appointments in the next months at other doctors (the problem is that I leave my country to study abroad before I would get any appointment.)So that’s it. it really sucks mentally so if a person reading this complains about their period: be thankful you even have

Also, I don’t feel stressful and while I am active and love sports I don’t undereat or over exercise. ( I know this comment is unnecessary but I guess I just had to take it out here haha)
