OK, so far I have just charged my newly bought CS Free to 100%. I didn’t have to push the small button to start the unit charge. It started with the first quarter blinking, so it was somewhere between 0-25% charged from out of the box. Wouldn’t it be better longevity if the unit was fully charged out of the box? Now, next step is to charge the vehicle battery, but I don’t need the boost, I just want to charge it carefully up to max. How do I skip the start phase, and go directly to ordinary charging?

Hi, Thank you for reaching out! :) We aren't allowed to transport the units with anymore charge since it has a lithium battery. When it isn't connected to a power source it will always start off with 20A until a certain voltage has been reached.

Hi! I think it is a wonderful product you created! I’m just wondering wouldn’t it be possible to use the same all black polarity-free clamps that you use for the CS One? That would be the ultimate-best ever battery charger in every way

Hi! Thank you for your feedback :) Currently the APTO technology that makes the clamps polarity free is just available in the CS ONE. CS FREE does have reverse polarity protection though, so if you connect the clamps the wrong way around you will just get an error message :)

How do I know when my car battery is fully charged? Should the circular light be flashing or circular light be lit?

How do I charge my car battery with CS FREE, through the cigarette socket? I bought the usb - cigarette accessory and I put it the IN CHARGE usb c port but doesn't charge my car battery, but the opposite...the car battery charges the CS FREE...any solutions? Don't want to maintain my cars battery with cables clamps always.

Hi. In order to charge your vehicle battery you need to connect to the recommended charge points (see vehicle manual) using the provided battery clamps. You can recharge the internal battery within the CS FREE using the optional USB-C CHARGE CABLE 12V PLUG whilst driving. The reason to why you can not charge the vehicles battery through the 12V output is that the cables between the output and the battery often are thin, and the recommended highest amperage is 8A. The CS FREE can provide up to 20A and that would in worst scenario melt the cables between the output and the battery. I hope this explains why we recommend to connect with clamps. So my car battery is almost new, I just want to keep it to the top when the car is 2-3 days parked without any electrical solution nearby.If I connect with the clamps of the CS FREe will be enough for 2-3 days? My battery is almost all the time with 12.5V when my car is parked. Just want the CS free to keep it to 12.6-12.7V these 2-3 days.

Hi. If you have the CS FREE connected to any kind of power source, it will work fine. If your battery is 12,5 the CS FREE will most likely not have power enough to fully charge from the internal battery - but anyway - to add 20Amps (a fully charged CS FREE) will help a lot. And you can recharge from the 12V output when driving and connect when parking. This will make a significant difference.All the electronics in the vehicle risk draining the battery, even when parked. If you park longer than a week, I recommend you to recharge the CS FREE and reconnect to recommended charge points. Good Luck. Best regards CTEK Support

Min Volvo larmade för låg batterispänning när jag försökte starta dieselvärmaren. Efter att jag kört cs-free 20 min, så larmade det ändå för låg batterispänning, och dieselvärmaren gick inte att starta. Hade hoppats på att den här hade varit lösningen på ett vanligt problem med dieselvärmare i kallt klimat.

Hej! Du kan behöva ladda batteriet med cs free ett par gånger om batteriet dragits ur så mycket innan varningen försvinner. Interna batteriet i cs free är 66wh medans en dieselvärmare på 2kw kan dra el upp till 40watt så den drar väldigt mycket.

Jag hoppades att CS Free laddade upp batteriet till en nivå där man kunde få igång dieselvärmaren. Jag körde inte dieselvärmaren medan jag laddade.

Great video. It is unclear when using the product how to charge the battery vs. "start" it. The battery will start when it is below optimal charge. (This is clear because the battery charger indicates "start," but the car internal system says the battery has been discharged and is low). After starting my car, the charger light indicated an 8-hour charge was necessary, but the battery charger lasted only an hour or so. Hi, Thank you for the kind words about the CS FREE and the video. It is actually no difference between charging and fill the battery so you can start your vehicle - you can start a long time before the battery is fully charged. All the tests we have done (some few abnormal exceptions) tells us, if you have a common car that won't start, and you uses the CS FREE until "START" is lit - you will have power enough to start your vehicle. It is a good help to turn off consumers as radio lights - all the power need to go the the battery and not to the consumers. To fully charge a big battery can take 3-4 or even more recharges of the CS FREE if the battery is big and very drained. Forget it if you’re looking for something to maintain your battery. I bought one and it’s internal battery lasts under 24 hours when hooked up to a basic car with a healthy battery. Wrote to customer services twice and no one bothered to answer. Piece of expensive junk
