All I know is that WHEN YOU DO get a drop, it's 60% gun skin- 40% case

+OnlyD3Z I don't think valve have said exactly how it works (maybe they have, not sure), but TF2 has a similar drop system and they have said how that works. Assuming it works the same, this is how it works with completely made up numbers just to give you an idea: Whenever you get a drop the system will randomize a time within 2 bounds, like between 3-4 hours for example. Let's pretend it randomizes the time 3:22. When you have played over 3:22 on authenticated servers and the game ends you will get a drop and a new randomized time. The drop is just random with a bigger chance to get bad items than good. This will go on until you hit a weekly cap. It is set so that most normal players won't hit it, but idlers will. If you have items left from last week you never got some drops carry over to the next week. As I said, this could be completely different in CS, so don't take this as facts, but I am pretty sure they based the system on the TF2 system. Question is just how much they changed.

The assist anomaly you mentioned could well have been because the other person dealt more total damage than the player with the extra assist, ie. the assist was probably a 50 damage assist, while the other guy dealt 35 damage to two enemies. This gives an overall higher damage in the round, which is consistent with your previous findings (where damage counts towards MVPs if kills are the same).

You may want to check if this theory explains aimers MVP, but I believe that Most eliminations actually tracks overall damage done to enemies, not kills. So someone could do, say, 39 damage to 5 enemies, get no kills or assists, and still get the mvp after members of his team did the cleanup.

What I noticed is when 2 people get 2 frags each, the one with most damage dealt will get the MVP. For example, A got 2, B got 2, and C got 1 but damaged one guy that got killed by B. A will get the MVP.

I'd prefer it if mvp was awarded to the player with the most points. Bonus points for when the odds are against your team (4v5, 1v5, 1v2, etc.), ammo efficiency (not headshots, but being at least 50% accurate) and maybe entry and exit frags (however, those are not always the most important kills).

Hey Philip, you should update this topic with Wingman, I play Wingman a lot and even when both players get 1 kill it's a mistery who will get the MVP star. I wonder if it's based on who got the 1st blood, who did more damage, who took less damage, ... There are many parameters that we could measure with Wingman... :)

I found that if you defuse the bomb in round 30 (assuming no overtime), you will get the mvp regardless whether you have or have not killed enemies I won the match on that occasion, but I don’t know whether it is still the same if it is a tie.

Nowadays with the recent update where it shows who was famous for doing what at the end of the match: I got "Ninja - fewest steps heard" when I had 3 aces and the most hs percentage by 15%, and also the most utility dmg. So yes I will never be the real MVP. The other got Ace of Aces when he only got 1 ace.

Can you explain why there is "REDUCED MULTIPLIER" sometimes in CSGO? I have this for few days and then its back to normal multiplier! In Reduced multiplier you get max 16 XP in Casual/DM and around 45-50 in competitive.

I just think they should make the first frag of the round give 3 points so the guy getting the entry would get the mvp over a person who did as much as him since the entry kills is the most important kill (most of the time) It's different with the last kill. It can be a clutch but it can also just be a guy killing someone who was saving his gun
