I love the new skybox and the new lighting. Was a bit worried from the first pics we got cause I didnt like the orange glow, I have always felt like Cache is one of the maps that looks best without a lot of colors and such. Just a lot of clean white suits it far better, so the direction he is taking is great! I do still love the occasional colors so it doesnt get too dull, especially the red

Yeah i totally agree. The contrast isnt there, neither is the entire feel of the map. But to be fair I think this cache will work out fine since its not yet finished but a major selling point of making cs2 was better lighting and im sorry but this new lighting is completely shit for cs. They have to mess around with it to get it to be a fit for cs but no map has done that so far and all of them looks just wrong.

I wasn't aware that this was an unpopular opinion, but I disliked green cache when it came out, and the new agent skins more or less killed the map for me. I'm not a fan of not being able to see other players.

Watching this, I had an idea for a CS map which would be interesting, and if I was gonna make a CS map it’d be this; a bullet proof glass factory. Imagine being able to see the opposing team through certain corners, or hallways. It’d be unique but I’m not certain what tactics would be used on it.

As a Hammer user, it's been really interesting to see FMPone's process as he's released updates to development. It's a remaster and rebuild, adding and removing features to Cache and not just a port of CSGO's version. Attention to detail is spot on and im glad it's taking a while as Cache was otherwise quite stale and outdated (visually, the playability of the map was great). Always a classic and a fantastic map - just glad it's getting CS2's and with context of new mechanics and playability. Good stuff.

I'm so glad to finally see some cache, been missing this map loads. Thing is though, it's not that I don't like what fmpone is doing but it feels like so much of the map is being changed for the worse. Interesting boost spot being replaced by concrete. Unique wooden floor that makes the map feel real, concrete. It just feels like to keep peoples fps high on the new engine maps are being made in such a way that simplifies everything somewhat. This isn't necessarily bad and it works in some places but I feel the quirky and unique areas, colours and furnishings of the old maps made cs maps, cs maps and not just another battlefield or COD copy. Idk maybe i'm just reading into it too much. . .
