Milepost 48 baby... My town! Been watching trains here since 1985. Steve told me he was working on this a while back and it was worth the wait. Thanks!

Not many people know about the yard in New Miami, Ohio. Most of the switching jobs are done by locals and yard jobs. J782, J783, Y101.

back in 1981, when the chessie ran a steam special from cincy to lima, back to cincy,,,,,,,,,,,,,, on the return , i heard on the scanner from the crew asking why dispatch had an approach at new miami. steam engine reduced speed, not enough though, and the train went into the new miami yard, hard. the armco hot metal local FORGOT to throw the switch back to main. the steamer busted the yard de-rail, and a sanding nozzle on the steamer was broken. i have often wondered what happened to the crew of the local? this was the safety express, 614.
