Just hit year two on my set up. Over 40 races at this point. Nah man this black wing is the kinda car that shuts down car meets when it comes in chopping and you just know it stands on business. Would be nice to see what the intake makes on a bone stock car. Most of us have stock cars and just want a cold air intake just for that extra bit more. Don't plan on going crazy on a new car.

Considering it needs a tune in-order to run properly the average person with a stock car is not going to pay $3,500 to un-lock the ECU + Tune cost, just so they can tune it with an intake. We'd advice doing a ported blower before that which does not require a tune and we have shown to pick up 40-50whp. There will be minimal gains with intake only and no other mods.

I'd say it would pick up more if it didn't have such a sharp turn coming off the supercharger. But if it had a filter right after the throttle body on the supercharger it might just be sucking in hot air

What size is the TB opening where the silicone 90 attaches? 4"? Having a intake pipe that necks down in size just before the couple will increase intake charge velocity and cfm (just like what you made). It would be absolutely worth trying a 4.5" pipe that necks down to the size of the coupler inlet (4" I assume?!?!) as well. A pipe diameter beyond a certain diameter wont do anything flow wise except DECREASE the charge velocity/speed which is a bad thing obviously. Finding a better way to turn the intake charge 90* without the abrupt 90* short bend coupler should help as well. You guys should look into a flow bench for testing parts. This would be a ideal situation to use one. You could actually make one with a cheap sensor, or look at the data in the tune to get an idea of flow increase/decrease. As a general rule of thumb, a 3" straight pipe will flow 900 cfm. So you dont always need to go massive on items to get the necessary flow for a engines demands

Yep dyno the car again with the hood closed, IAT will be higher and slightly more restriction than obviously hood open.

@@LateModelPerformance Yes many cold air manufacturers have advertised gains with open element systems with the hood open, and most of the gains diminished after the hood was closed soaking up heat and adding restriction around the filter. Obviously the hot air under the hood is not as much of a factor with the hood open as it can grab fresh air. The factory closed box system was intended to keep the air charge temps down and emissions etc but is more restrictive than the larger open element filter you chose for the car. Just trying to give you some info after spending a few years perfecting cold air intakes for 15+ coyote cars.
