My wife assembled that engine in the performance build center located in bowling green Kentucky home of the corvette. She’s the top Cadillac engine builder. She’s built 40 perfect engines this month. Friday she’s building an engine for one of the CEOs subordinates.

BMW has lost their way. In a million years would I prefer a Cadillac over a BMW. Well, that time has arrived... this is significantly nicer than the new M5. Plus you can get a manual transmission! Props to Cadillac.

@ Truth be told, I am a BMW fanboy myself. These last few years have been really frustrating. Had two M5 CS and it was easily the best M5 ever produced. Just despised the buckets and fewer creature comforts. The only thing they had to do was make a new version of the CS with normal seats. And now we've gone very backwards. Heartbreaking.

It’s $118k for the current model with all the carbon… no precision package, little GM screen. I doubt they will improve on that.

As a BMW brethren, I truly love this color and the fact that this comes in a 6sp manual. All of my BMWs have been 6sp and the new M5 does not have that. The previous M5 (which is a certified upcoming classic) is the last of the mohicans. I'm going to investigage further.

The CT5V manual BW is the most fun car I've ever owned (even better than the viper). I've dumped $30k into the engine to get it to 1khp; it's so fun going from tame luxury sedan to insane monster that shreds the tires at 60mph when you stomp on it.

This is my dream car and I’m on track to own one in 3-5 years, manual of course. My current Elantra N is fun for now but I feel it’s like a bike with training wheels compared to driving this monster.

I owned a 2011 (V2) CTS-V for five years. It was a great car. I now own a 2016 Z06. It's awesome. If I were in the market for a high performance sedan I would definitely look at the CT5 Blackwing....Love it. Thanks for the video Joe!

Love the look of the Blackwing. Looks better in person, where you don't have the camera's FOV making the front look bulbous. The only thing I wish it had was a more aggressive hood. This and the ERay are my current "dream cars".

Cadillac's rebranding is absolutely successful, if you think of them in the last decade, all of their cars look so funky and bulky. The CT5 V Blackwing is literally an american version of BMW M5. Speaking of BMW.... let's just say they've lost their way, but hey at least they fired their designer now because no one ever thought split headlights on BMW looks good

Love both cars but i dont get the weight thing. People must of forgot what the m5 was supposed to be. The daily livable M car. Not a track animal. Feel like the new m5 hits more boxes and is definitely faster with AWD and RWD functionality

Gorgeous metallic teal color. It's such a strange turn of events that the Cadillac division is closer now to the Corvette group in philosophy; making basically race cars, instead of Cadillac's historical market segment which was gigantic land yachts like my grandma's (one of the original little old ladies from Pasadena) 1959 Cadillac with the rocket ship fins. I wish Cadillac would remake a land yacht of some kind, a hybrid limousine vehicle that would have class.
