If you were a teenager in the 80's you get it. Magical. Ball player, girl next door, falling in love. It was a simpler time. Lowkey miss it.

That was an excellent decade for great movies & songs (although a few I had to ask permission to see a couple as I was underage - barely a teen in the '80's). I have never seen this film but I love David Foster's music. I am determined to see it eventually.

David Foster was to the 80s as Phil specter and Burt Bacharach was to the 60s. He totally dominated the 80s. Almost every musical act was touched by his genius and became a success because of it.
@CartePostale.8 ай бұрын
Pity Phil Specter had such genius & yet had been a really rotten human being his whole life ending when his fragile ego couldn't accept the refusal of a beautiful woman. So, Phil being Phil, he forced a gun so hard into her mouth he broke her front teeth out & then he blew he head of.....

I love "Stealing Home." I've always wondered if someone besides comedy writer Steven Kampmann had directed it if it couldn't have been even better. The dialogue is sharp (Be my friend!) and the music is amazing. Every boy who's ever had a crush on his babysitter or the woman down the beach knows this coming of age story is so real. It's a shame it doesn't get played on TV anymore.

One of my most favorite songs. So many of Fosters songs are among my favorites, and I felt that way long before I even knew who he was, or that he composed them. The movie is a masterpiece. 60's and 70's America. Baseball. Young love. A boy and his Dad. Best friends. Youthful shenanigans. Heartbreak. Second chances. Tragedy and Redemption. Nostalgia. Beautiful music. New beginnings. I can't tell you how many times I have watched this movie. It is my all time favorite! How it is not more well known makes no sense to me!

The tape melted and I haven't heard the song in some 15 years... I recalled it today, and armed only with the lyrics 'when she danced' and 'innocence', somehow managed to track it down. Isn't the internet amazing... thanks for posting, brought an emotioanl smile:')
