Great radio for the car, got mine installed back to back with strong velcro. No need for the bracket. Wires straight to the battery. Antenna small stealthy president new york antenna just snip about 5mm of top for uk40.

Nice radio. Only issue with them is don't run full power for too long especially on FM as a few people have stated the finals go pop easily. Enjoy! 73s Tim

Cheers Tim only low power on FM & i run a computer fan on high power on SSB. There a very nice radio and good to see the band has been open lately

Great radio. Use my 9900 in the car. Uniform 300 Homebase is another good radio.

thinking of getting one of these, just hear they run hot on fm, do you think they would be ok run on say 30-35 watt safely

How hot does it get if you talk for a long time?

They do get hot but i have a old computer fan that keeps it cool. On ssb it,s fine with out the fan. Hope this helps. you could run the radio on 5w and use a liner amplifier
