If there is ever a war and that foreign oil is cut off, eastern Canada will get the karma they deserve. You know as well as I that there is no climate emergency. Let’s just say there is a climate emergency Canada’s Contribution is so insignificant that if all of Canadas emissions disappeared it would not be noticed, like one drop of water in a five gallon bucket.

It’s a thought needing by one to really understand the situation in front of Canada. It’s critical to develop your most abundant and reliable resources, with owning large amounts of uranium, to having coal, and oil and natural gas. It’s a shame to be charged a tax in January on the coldest country on earth , to keep our lives alive. American tariffs, and Mexico joining brics, leave Canada way cornered! Especially as our most abundant resources to make life cheap, gasoline cheap, transportation with diesel cheap, agriculture cheap because of natural gas, home heating cheap, electricity cheap, and try digging this country out of its lowest point in its history, out !

3:23 disappointing to hear more talk about SMRs. Already Energy Alberta and OPG are planning a $35B project in Peace River. 5 full CANDU reactors that will provide reliable baseload for decades. Instead of waiting around for dinky expensive SMRs, just go with the tried and true full-size CANDU. Alberta is absolutely big enough for them. She needs to realize what private enterprise is doing in this province and help expedite this project. Ontario has already decarbonized their entire grid with this approach.

Conservatives do not care about preserving a liveable climate! One of the worst things to happen to Canada was when Conservatives turned against the environment after the Reform/Alliance takeover of the Progressive Conservative party. "Climate change is the most serious environmental challenge and time is running out." - Brian Mulroney, last PC PM elected by Canadians. "If conservatives are not in the vanguard of the environmental movement, then what are they trying to conserve? I would argue that nothing is more important for conservatives, and for anybody, than saving this fragile planet from destruction in the face of our own activities." - Tom McMillan, last PC Environment Minister under Brian Mulroney.

@ArchieBunker-i2h2 күн бұрын
Name one subsidy.
@whiskybrush32192 күн бұрын
Our current infrastructure can barely support the grid as it stands. The tiny fraction of Electric cars in circulation become an instability causing burden on the system the moment our temperatures fluctuate outside of the average seasonal parameters. That is not a realistic concept.
@willfilipski2470Күн бұрын
What is this obsession with hydro? Alberta has comparably few rivers and lakes to dam as the rest of the country. Clearly the more suitable option are CANDU reactors, which are less expensive, less damaging to the environment, and 100% canadian built and owned. In fact, Energy Alberta and OPG have already partnered and announced their project in Peace River.
