SIR! Let me tell you. People like you are a blessing to KZbin! My father bought this brand new Cub Cadet in 2021. Used the first year and then it sat for about 2 years. THIS vid walked me thru everything and just in time for this past weekend's midwest 10 in snowfall. THANK YOU for sharing.

Excellent video with step-by-step trouble shooting each potential problem, including how to properly clean your carburetor. The camera work was excellent every step of the way. My helpful tip I appreciate on these types of videos is to know the size of the socket to remove a bolt or nut, e.g. 10 mm.

Great video - helped me out immensely. Only 2 notes - the little gold injection part has 2 different ends and it falls out to quickly to tell which end goes in first - fortunately I guessed correctly. Also a small ring came off on of the nuts holding on the cover that was not shown on the video. But, that said, everything else was fantastic and I got mine snowblower running. Thank you!

Well sir I did exactly what you did step by step, and got the exact same results. Fantastic! I have a feeling this will be something we'll have to do every couple years or so. Thanks again for your video man.

Couple of options. Drain the gas at the end of the season. After the gas drains, start it up and let it run until all the gas is out of the carburetor. Then gas is not sitting all summer causing havoc! Another is to put ethanol free gas in it, add some stabilizer and every month or so start it up and let it run for a few minutes over the summer. This will keep things flowing and help prevent carburetor issues. I personally drain the gas out of my equipment when I know it is going to sit for a bit. My generator is always on standby so I only put ethanol free gas in it and have a calendar reminder to start it once a month.

Thanks for posting, it helped me immensely. My SB looks exactly the same as yours, and after I cleaned the carb of the gas that varnished, it started on the first pull; but it surges. Fast or slow, doesn't matter. I let if run for 30 mins thinking it would settle, but it didn't. The gas is new, I made extra sure to clean all those tiny holes as you did, so it can't be that. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.

Make sure your gaskets are good. They may not be sealing correctly and causing an air leak.

I don't. The gas line is behind everything so no real way to install one.

@@small_engine_repair There is one way it can be put underneath the tank, you'd have to lift the tank to turn on and off

All I wanted to do was see if I could get to start. I didn't wan't a course in being a mechanic. I thought I was avoiding problems by buy in Cub Cadet. Only used it a half dozen times.

Doesn't matter what brand you buy. If you leave gas sitting in the carburetor all summer, it is going to give you problems when you go to start it in the winter. It is best to drain the gas at the end of winter, start it and run it until it dies. Then in the winter add gas.

Throw it in the garbage and buy a Honda. They are fkn junk. I put mine out at the curb already. 5 hours on it. Treated the fuel last spring, won’t start. I shouldn’t have to disassemble carbs every 6 months to get these piece of shit to run.

Does anyone on youtube know that the nipple on the bottom of the gas tank that connects to the fuel line is a filter ?

@@small_engine_repair Kist unscrew the nipple and its all one oiecr. I have been stugglring with this for 2 years. It was -13f this morning when I was doing it. I was shocked the techs at CUB told me there was no filer and I was just checkeing to see if there was something in it.. yea, a filter.

Couldnt you technically just remove the bolt from the bottom of the bowl, remove the jet, clean, then out back without having to tear apart the whole carb? I assume thats all it is with having has in it too long.

Had a craftsman for 16 years left gas in all winter and no problems. Bought a cub cadet and left gas in one season, and carb is hosed. Shows the cheap Chinese crap today.

I bought a Cub Cadet snowblower and it worked for the first year. Had to pay a guy $100 to get it going in the second year. Now it’s year three and it won’t start. The end of season instructions were followed. Most unreliable product I’ve ever bought.

Does anyone know the best way to return this piece of Chinese junk for a refund. Please warn your subscribers NOT to ever buy anything made by Cub Cadet. I wish I saw this video before I got suckered. Waste of $1,500 dollars. I guess I'll go try to clean the carburetor after I replace the transmission cable that broke after 10 hours.
