316 stainless steel is the most non- magnetic metal, however, the welding is magnetic. So when you make a necklace and meld the links, the welding between the links will be magnetic.

It's not real gold, CRAFTD London is just gold-plated steel...

@joseurbina5873 gold plated isnt fake gold, if you take a pmi gun to these pieces you WILL see gold, you'll just see more steel on the results. However yeah most people will just say its not real gold if its not solid. Some might also have a thicker layer of gold on the plating. Anyway, im not depending the company im just saying that's how jewelry works in general. 🙏

I have one from jaxxon and one from craftd, the jaxxon one faded in 4 months , and the craftd one hasnt faded in 1 year

I got a few JAXXON silver chains a while back after seeing Gus Villa’s review on them and honestly they seem to be really great quality. Have some weight to them and the links are nice

JAXXON isn’t competitive in pricing and Crafted London only offers gold plated/stainless steel so I couldn’t care less for either. Paying $80 for a cheaply gold plated piece of stainless steel is a rip off. While jaxxon is overpriced for what you get and lacks variety. Seriously, look how expensive they’re 2.5m rope chains, Figaros, and Miami Cuban links are. Lukezion and harlembling are better in every possibly way.

I've gotten some pieces from HB and the plating is shoddy. Plated pieces I like Pori Jewelry on ebay.Luke Zion is legit but they only sell silver pieces and the pricing isn't that far off Jaxxon.

@@Fundando I prefer silver and solid gold and not really into vermeil or plated so can’t answer for that. But JAXXON charges $150 for a 2.5mm rope chain and Lukezion charge $152 for a 4.5mm rope chain, JAXXON charges $180 for a 24in 5mm Cuban link chain while lukezion charges $151 for a 24in 5.5mm Cuban link, etc. it’s the same way with harlembling. My problem with JAXXON is you can get a piece that’s bigger and has more silver in it for cheaper at most places. I got a 2.5mm rhodium plated 925 rope chain from Hawaii during vacation for $80 while JAXXON is charging $150 for that. I like more bang for my buck unless JAXXON offers something super unique no one else has.

6:47 I can help with that. Earlier in the vid, you were talking about "18k" as if it had a specific look to it. But whomever is making the piece can alter the alloy to make it appear any number of colors. Thus, there is no such thing as an 18k "look." Hope that helps.

Jaxxon’s gold chains fade not too long after though, it’s definitely a nicer chain in every way but Craftd lasts 5x longer

As someone who has owned jewelry from both companies ,crafted it is not perfect but if you want something that is going to last you, I had a Figaro chain from them that lasted me two years before I seen any type of change and that was mainly on the clasp the chain itself never tarnished as for jaxxon it definitely looks like you paid something for it However, the plating is going to fade on you alot faster so unless you want to wear it when you need it for occasion craft it is the more every day piece if that’s what you’re looking for. And. The the clasp on the jaxxon chain broke overtime

I love my Jaxxon Cuban/Franco combo in white gold and I put two mini moissanite pendants from Aporro. Definitely a refreshing change from my gold Cuban time to time. Great Video as always

He is also blatantly biased in this video also where he mentions it’s sponsored. Yes Jason is better being made from silver however the fact the Craftd sticks is because it’s made from stainless and rhodium which is magnetic, they state that fact on the website themselves. Stainless won’t be as high quality as silver but the prices they hold are far apart and serve different demographics

I’m not a jeweler, but maybe you are. According to googles stainless steel and rhodium aren’t magnetic, however nickel is and I clearly showed google confirming stainless steel is not magnetic. Showing 2 similar size chains at different price points allow the audience make they own decision. I have seen amazing stainless steel pieces of jewelry as most luxury watch brands are stainless. They absolutely serve a different demographic and that’s also mentioned. Thanks for your comment and expertise.

@@Cubaknowloco not a jeweller but have an interest in the sciences. You are correct that in its bulk form rhodium is not magnetic however when used for passing does retain magnetic properties. The likelihood is that they have used it to plate the steel to slow it to keep a sharper, shinier finish for longer. Personally my point regarding the sponsorship is that if comparing two products the video should not be sponsored by one of them as it will introduce subtle bias if not implicit. This is just the nature of the heat and I am not saying I would be immune as I wouldn’t. You aren’t going to want to step on the tires of the one paying you for the spot hence naturally you would default to giving them better talking points over the competitor. Just my two cents

***I AM NO EXPERT OR SCIENTIST*** I remember years ago reading up on the magnet test for 316 stainless steel. Apparently when stainless is manipulated so much, such as the smaller cuban link, it can lose its anti magnetic property, but not as much on bigger manipulation. Can’t remember where I read it, so I can’t site it lol. But this was back in the day from when I was buying 316 from HB…fact check me if I’m wrong please, id like to learn more about it too. I've been looking at the jaxxon for my 12 yr old son but I've heard they tarnish within months I just wish someone like this guy would wear it for a year EVERYDAY and do a HONEST review. But this guy ALWAYS says Jaxxon is a solid chain. Has ANYONE had a jaxxon for a year and love it?

I've had my Jaxxon chains for 3 yrs. Got the set that came with a silver and a gold Cuban link. I wear the gold everyday and even wear it to the gym, while running, sleep and I shower with it after my workouts to rinse the sweat off and the color has held up phenomenally if you ask me. Not as bright as when I got it, but I like the look of it now just as much maybe even more. I would 100% recommend Jaxxon.
