I mean...1320000 $ are a lot, but you probably shouldn't let your little kids go unsupervised in a museum exhibiting expensive art. If you expect a museum to be "a place where kids are invited (and can go rampant)", you should have probably chosen one with special areas for kids or, you know, maybe a playground.

She forgot the most important : "a place where WELL EDUCATED kids (ie respectful of other's stuff, like not touching what they don't own) are invited... WITH THEIR PARENTS". I doubt that kids are accepted alone. A museum is not a playground, obviously. Somebody, tell her that even if kids are invited to libraries too, if her kid finds a way to enter the old books room and damage incunabular manuscripts, she probably would also have to pay a lot for them. Yeah, parents are responsible for their kids actions, and are supposed to prevent them from doing bad ones

@Djoarhet0012 жыл бұрын
I don't fully agree. With kids, these things happen. I bet every parent has had some unsupervised accidents with their kids. Unfortunately this was an expensive one. Should the parents have paid more attention and be held responsible for their kids? Yes of course. Should the museum be held responsible for securing their art? Also yes. And I can't imagine the museum not having these artworks be covered by insurance, so to punish the parents with something that will stay with them for the rest of their lives just seems cruel and inhumane. I mean, they could have just as easily said the artwork was worth $500.000 and fine the parents with that amount... In art it's all just made up numbers anyways. Just fine them with something that doesn't ruin their lives (not to say the kids' future) and move on.
