CUCV M1028 Project Part 8 - Body Snatcher 2: Build Back Better

Part 2 of a 2-part episode - In this episode we're going rejuvenate the front end of this military K30/D30 squarebody pick up truck using all of the SNATCHED body parts! We'll remove and replace the entire heating and blower motor assembly but not before restoring that firewall. We'll get everything wired and connected back up so we can replace the outer and inner fenders (How to replace Squarebody inner and outer fenders)..

The insulator pad came from LMC Truck.
The fender bolts also came from LMC Truck - Part #30-1104

Ha! Fuck yeah bud, looks great! Love the paint work. Working in a similar, also previously government vehicle, I own a 1985 c20 Suburban that was a dnr/ forest service vehicle. Love it. Runs like garbage, getting a new injection pump tomorrow. Keep the vids coming! Love the help it gives me on my way to getting mine done.

I wonder what one of these trucks would be like with a ZF 6 speed manual transmission or maybe a 6L80 automatic transmission.

It would definitely have more top speed and be way more pleasant on the highway, but I personally wouldn't mess with the drivetrain on one of these. It may not go fast, but for an engine that really doesn't have that much horse power, geared up the way it is it'll still pull a house down!

Fitting up my truck, I cant get the headlight to stay in never realise as you've shown I'm missing the hooks, I have no idea what they look like to see if it's there among stuff. Your video did not show the hook I'm its entirety, describe it for me please.
