Cuisinart Coffee grinder not working fixed

How to clean sand fix cuisinart coffee grinder.
Mine stopped working and this is how I fixed it

You, sir, saved me from having to buy a new grinder. Mine works again after cleaning that area out. Honestly, it did not have that much build up. Guess it was enough to stop it from working.

Thank you, Leo! I bought my nearly new grinder at the Habitat ReStore for $25., but when I tried to use it, it wouldn't start. I took it back to hopefully return it but without a receipt, they would not and tossed it in the trash. Determined to fix it, I asked for it back, brought it home and found you! It works now! it was pretty clean with only a little bit of powdered coffee around that hole. I used a sharp knife and Q-tips. I did laugh out loud at your comments after dragging the plug through the sink.

Thanks for the video. One thing you can do to stop the grinder is slide the cup size to off. Hope this helps

Thanks sooooo much for the simple go through. By following your simple comments (as in "if you want it to start...") I realized that I needed to reassemble it after I cleaned it. So simple, but when one is working with muscle memory it is easy to skip an essential step. I at least had figured out how to unscrew the top where the beans go so I could give it a good cleaning with a combo of a pastry brush and my nails. Now I sit here with a big grin on my face, feeling totally brilliant and talented, and looking forward to a fresh cup of coffee (or pot which it has been grinding well as long as the sticks are out!). So kudos to you and thanks for making me look good!!!

If you slide the numbered switch to “off” it turns off…

ALSO, turning the bean hopper counter-clockwise (past "COARSE") will turn it off.

Not ideal. You are basically taking it apart for cleaning. Use the slider switch.

Good video, but for clarification there is only one safety switch and it is in the little crack above the silver strip at the front of the grinder. It is activated when you push the ground coffee container in all the way. The coffee grounds you cleaned with the knife is just stopping the container from being pushed all the way in. Also the two bottom corners at the back can trap coffee grounds, keep them clean as well. Cheers.

mine turns off if I push the cups switch all way to the low end or it just stops after the desired amount of coffee is done grinding up. I'm looking for the hopper and lid I broke mine. I've been looking for it but keep seeing only ccm-16pc but my machine says ccm-16sa would this matter?

People! The grinder has an off switch and in its in plain sight! You don't have to pull out the container to stop it, you push the slider back to OFF and it stops. 😉

You don’t have to pull the container out to stop the grinder, just slide the amount bar all the way to the left and it will immediate stop

Very “to the point” explanation. Our brand new grinder stopped working and my wife was looking at me like I just suggested getting rid of the Cat. 10 secs into the video I got a knife and cleared the chute….and away we go. The cats future is looking dire.

If you want to stop the grinder while it's grinding, simply slide the duration selector all the way to the left. Stop.

There is no safety switch inside the "spout" area, but buildup in that area can prevent the receptacle from sliding all the way back. There is a slot on the front/bottom bin area with a switch inside that gets activated by a plastic tab on the bottom of the clear plastic receptacle. My experience is that you have to routinely clean the powder-fine coffee that builds up in the collar area (like this video shows) as well as dislodge buildup in the grinding chamber by fishing around inside there (basically poke something in the center of the collar area shown in the video too). Very early on I wasn't doing that and the thermal fuse inside the coffee maker blew, but it is a single-trip thermal fuse that then needs replaced (or bypassed).

The off switch is the cup selector switch. Just move it to the right, where it literally says “off”, and it will shut off. There I fixed your issue.

No. You can just push the slide switch to off anytime. You don't have to pull the cup out to stop it. Yes you have to clean out the chute too. I didn't see you do that. (the hole where ground coffer comes out) I have had two of these. I wore one completely out and got a new one. The thing I hate about it is it is so dam loud.
